i think that the most important thought is what makes you feel beautiful? it may be a bit hot and cumbersome, but if you love it and are comfortable then that works.. this is a fuller dress..
I think you can wear a fuller skirt if thats what you want! I really think the type of material matters more than the shape of the gown. I wouldnt wear a heavy satin gown with beading on the beach. Personally, I would wear a gown thats light and flowy.

You wear what makes you happy. It's your wedding - do what you want! I do agree with @july112010 though.. go for a flowy fabric instead of heavy lace or satin.

@lemillie I did see that post, love that monique dress! I agree you should wear what you want, but even her dress is not a real heavy ball gown with beading. But even still I think everyone should do what they want for their wedding, You only get one chance to wear a wedding dress right!
Thanks everyone so much for the advice and support for my idea! I am looking at a Tomasina gown in silk taffetta--very airy! I've attached the picture here. I saw a bride with a full skirt on the beach on stylemepretty.com this week and I just feel in love with the look.

I think the dress you are looking at would be amazing! Taffetta is lighter too so you won't be as hot as you would in satin.
lemillie, that was the post that made me want to try on the fuller gowns. I'm so glad I did because I loved how the dress looked!
Get a dress that makes you happy and that you won't pass out in from heat exhaustion! :)

So....I'm planning a Key West wedding. All along I thought I'd want a simple gown for such a casual location. However, I've been trying on gowns and just LOVE the look of the full skirts. What are thoughts on fuller gowns on the beach?
