38 days and counting! I am getting so excited! I was wondering if anyone has any creative, fun ways for a bride and groom to leave the reception.
Immediately after the last song, we are going to leave...There'll be acar waiting and we want to leave in our wedding attire. I've seen sparklers, rice, and ribbony-type wands all waved or tossed at the departing couple. Any unique ideas beyond these??
I love that scene in My Best Friend's Wedding" when the car pulls away and the driveway is lined with fountain fireworks. So beautiful! I was reading a blurb in Bridal Bargains last night about hosting a short fireworks show at a reception, and how it is a lot less expensive than you might think. A five-minute display could be as low as $1000, and those fountain fireworks are less expensive than that. If it is in your budget, check it out - I'm sure it entails a permit and a fire marshall.
I love the look of sparklers, but when I learned there was a fire ban at our site, I had to rethink that. We used lavendar buds as a unique twist on birdseed and bubbles, and it was a hit! Smells great, too. :)
