Since the Hive has been so supportive of me and I'm due next week, I figured we should have a funny poll where people can guess Wombat's gender. So, click boy or girl and then post what you think Wombat is.
To help, if you have any questions about old wives' tales, ask and I'll answer them to the best of my ability. Since one of those tales is based on how I'm carrying Wombat, here's a pic. Remember, I dropped a couple weeks ago, so Wombat's sitting lower than before.
If you want to add what day you think I'm having Wombat, feel free. My technical due date is July 25 and they're not letting me go past August 2. My husband thinks I'm popping tomorrow
My initial reaction was girl, so I voted boy. I am always wrong when I guess what friends are carrying. And I was born on my due date, so I'm going with the 25th!
I am guessing boy, I don't know why. Maybe just because Wombat seems like more of a masculine name to me so all this time I have been thinking 'boy' whenever you say Wombat.
Wow, you are patient to be willing to wait until August. But I hope you do not have to. Do you have a preference of what day you'd want to go into labor?
Wombat is a boy! I know because I dreamed it. :) (It's not creepy; it's awesome.)
He will be born on Thursday (7/21) at 12:30 pm.
For some reason I always figured Wombat was a girl.
If I had to guess, I would maybe say going into labor around the 27, delivering the 28th?
@Tatum: No preference now as I passed the days I wanted to have Wombat (the 15th and 18th).
As for my guess, I have no idea honestly. At first, I thought Wombat's a girl, but then had several dreams Wombat's a boy, so I'm confused.
I'm guessing boy, too! For no reason except, well, why not? And I'll guess July 22, just because it is my FMIL's birthday. :) I can't wait until you get to meet him (or her!) I'll be thinking of you.
I'm guessing boy. If you've dropped a bit ago and are still pretty high, I'm saying boy. Also, it seems that boy babies look like basketballs while chillin' with mom. For the date, I'm guessing 7/27.
I seriously think Wombat is a girl based on my experience with being pregnant with both and also my past guesses. I carried my little girl just like a little basket ball; like you are showing and with my boys, I carried them more inside of myself; don't know if that makes sense or not.
I am guessing girl, since so many others are guessing boy! Good luck...
I'm going with girl and I'm thinking July 23 (my wedding date)...hopefully it will be a happy day for us both!
I guessed boy (no real reason for guessing boy). I also guess that you will go into labor within a week, probably on July 22.
@noritake22: I agree. Not because I've had kids, but because I've heard that girls are carried straight out the belly, and boys are carried more everywhere else.
This is so much fun. I can't wait to find out. Right now, the majority is guessing boy. I can tell you Wombat has a full head of hair. We've seen it in the ultrasounds.
Wombat has always just come accross as masculine to me so I'm saying boy!
You are carrying really high and out in front which I guess is supposed to be boy, but meh. I'm voting girl just to be different.

I'm going with boy, only because the last 8 babies that have been born that I've known have been boys! It seems like there's no girls anymore!!

I say girl... For some reason the boy bellies I've seen that look like yours are usually pointier- like a torpedo lol...
@noritake22: My MIL says this as well. She says little girls are all out front like a basketball, where little boys are sprawled a bit more .
I guessed girl - just because! Good luck and I wish you a quick and uneventful labor and delivery. Can't wait to see an update with pics of a healthy and happy Wombat and Mommy!
I say boy! The rest of you still looks so skinny and usually girls kind of make you fat all over, rather than just in the belly. I'm going with my husband's birthday - July 31st.
@Moose1209: Oh, I forgot to add that in my explanation of boy as well. You're looking super toned, but with a big bump. Everyone I've known to have boys looks that same way; even my SIL did when she had twin boys.

Since I'm a girl wombat, I guess girl. :D And I say July 22.
I'm guessing it's a boy that will be born on July 24th :) I have no real reason to think boy, I just do.
P.S. When I'm pregnant I hope I look as good as you do! (hope that isn't creepy, but rather a compliment!)

I was going to vote girl, but if you've dreamed it's a boy, then I say boy!
And I'll guess July 21st as the day he arrives. Can't wait for the update!!
