There seems to be a it of a strange atmosphere on the boards lately, so to lighten the mood I thought this would be fun!
post something that made you proud recently. It can be achieving something for your wedding, loosing that couple of pounds you were trying to loose, your kids getting good grades, trying something new you thought you wouldn’t like, your partner getting a new job, anything you want!
I’ll start with my little miniature schnauzer Indy winning an award for best intermediate progress yesterday at his training classes:

Yay for Indy! I am proud of myself for working harder at my studies this semester and currently sitting on a GPA of 7 (scale 1-7, 1-3 are fail and 7 is the best). I am also proud of FI for doing so well with eating healthily despite my bad influence, and for working hard at his job despite some horrible days he has had and it not paying that much.

I am proud that I am almost complete with my Lifeline Crisis Support Worker training (to be one of the people who answers the suicide/crisis hotline)! I’ve completed a psych degree but I have never had much practical experience and this course, and the volunteer position to follow, has been really rewarding and has provided me with a lot of personal growth and confidence. Today I managed to deal with a role play of a call from a girl experiencing child abuse who couldn’t go home, which I couldn’t have imagined doing a few weeks ago.

My fiancé and I finished law school yesterday! Complete! It has always been my dream and I’m so so proud of achieving it!!

MissMonie: that’s amazing, good for you! Resources like that are so important- I have a friend who does the same in our city and it’s been really rewarding for him and led to some great employment opportunities!

Jacqui90: Thats great you’re keeping up on your grades so well, hard work really pays off in the end 🙂
MissMonie: Wow, that sounds like a really challenging but rewarding course to be taking. It will mean a lot to the people you help out eventually.
peonyinlove: Congrats! Fels good when you finally acheive your goal

One of my first year students asked me if I knew where a key was today. Most of my students are really shy about talking to me because they don’t realize how much Japanese I understand, and will generally avoid talking to me especially if there’s any other teacher they can ask. But today talking to the foreigner was less scary than talking to one of the third year teachers that she didn’t know and my heart grew three sizes.

Awe!! What a cutie!! The second dog DH & I got was a mini schnauzer named Ash who got stolen 🙁 so we will always have a soft spot for them.
My biggest accomplishment is sticking to my diet (whoo-hoo!). Have lost a little over a pant size, though not quite two (yet), & two pair of jeans that I impulsively bought and assumed would fit me (but didn’t) now do!

Ooooh I’ll play! I’m super proud of my undergraduate student worker. I’m trying to mould her into a mini-me, lol. She just applied for a prestigious summer research grant and won!
I’m also proud of myself for our recent renovations we did in our dining room and sun room. Here’s a before and after of the sun room. I love it now!

I finally received my new work permit! Almost exactly one year ago I moved to FI’s home country and took the first job I could find so I could legally stay and we could have time to plan our dream wedding instead of rushing it for a visa. The company atmosphere was a nightmare, and in April I finally got up the nerve to find a new job and quit my old one. Since then it’s been a mess of bureaucracy trying to get a new permit, but today it came through and I’ll officially start my new job on Monday!

I was so proud when my Grandmother sent me a random message saying how much she loved FH, that she thought he was an honorable man, and how happy she was that we found each other. Of course I showed it to FH, and I could tell it made him feel so happy and welcomed by my family 🙂

My DH started recruit schook with the Indianapolis Fire Department. This job means a lot for our family financially and stability wise and he’s feeling so good about himself now. It’s just awesome all around.

I started running about 6 weeks ago and ran 5 miles this past week for the first time in my life!

I am proud that DH and I just completed our first ever half marathon on Saturday! And we survived!
pinkshoes: that is awesome! That was us a couple of months ago and we just completed a half! Feels so empowering! Keep going!
