I’m watching Live with Kelly and Michael and they were talking about window and aisle seats on a plane so I thought it’d be fun to see what others prefer and why.
I have to have a window seat. I love looking out!! Especially on a plane. I just sit and stare out like a weirdo 🙂

On a short flight, 3 hours or less, I like window. On a long flight, I like aisle – I need to stretch and I have the bladder of a gnat so I don’t want to disturb someone every time I have to get up to pee 🙂

(an isle is a small mass of land surrounding by water)
I prefer aisle seats when I fly alone because I don’t want to both people to go pee, but if it’s me and DH and there are two seats on the side, I’ll take the window so I can cosy up to it.

I prefer the window seat because I can sleep against the window – not necessarily for the view (although a huge plus).
I work in an office with a lot of higher up’s and see alot of the travel arrangements done. They ALL request aisle. If they don’t have the option, they will look for a different flight just so they can get the aisle. (This is 20-30 people we’re talking about here)
Before I started working here, I didn’t know that the aisle seats were SO popular.

The isle for flying. The window scares the shit out of me, and I like not having to step over anyone if I need to use the bathroom. I never take the bus or train, but I imagine I’d prefer the window on those.

@mrsSonthebeach: corrected…thanks for pointing that out :s

I prefer the window, but I usually get stuck in the middle because FI is 6’2″ and just doesn’t fit in the middle…

I don’t like aisle. I don’t get up much during flights (and all my flights are long and international due to my LDR). I also don’t like having people walk right by me or having the cart come by and smack my seat. No thanks.
So window!!! Plus, I like being able to rest my head on the window. And I feel like I have less people able to look at me when I try to sleep.

I prefer window seats so I have something to lean on when I fall asleep.

Aisle, I hate feeling confined and having to climb over people to use the bathroom, plus there are usually windows at the end of the plane if I feel the need. I go out of my way to get aisle, including paying a few extra dollars if I need to.

Definitely need the window seat! Especially on a plane, it makes me feel less anxious. I have pretty severe travel anxiety, and being able to see what’s happening lessens that.

I travel for business alot. Aisle all the way!

@KJA00: I am a bit weird… I prefer window but am too scared to look out during takeoff. Once I am used to being up in the air for a few hours I then will look out (and during landing). As long as I’m not in the middle then it’s not too bad.

Window, I love being able to see everything!! Also, my FI pees more than my grandmother, so I hate having to get up out of my (cramped) seat so let him go buy every time he drinks a can of Diet Coke! 😉
