Weddingbee boards

So i'm telling my FI about my plan for our escort cards; this weekend I DIY-ed a simple wood box that I painted white and distressed, i'm going to fill it with sand and then put a variety of shells and tie the card to it with raffa/twine.  All of a sudden he's actually paying attention

and like 'you are going to confuse all of our guests, they're going to have no idea where to sit'

...why?

'b/c they're not going to know if they're a star fish or a scallop or....'

but i'm going to tie a name card to each shell and it will have thier name AND the table number on it

'no ones going to want to spend 15 mintues digging in a foot of sand to find a shell...that's really weird...i'll just stand by the door and tell everyone where to sit'

boys...haha...i still don't think he gets it (don't worry my shells won't actually be buried in a giant sand box, just sitting on top of the sand)
