We got lots of bottles of wine and champagne from guests for our engagement party. I’m writing thank you notes and, while I know WHO brought us bottles, they don’t have names on them and I can’t remember who brought wine, prosecco, champagne, etc specifically. How do I word the thank yous so that they are specific enough that they know I’m thanking them for bringing a bottle of SOMETHING but generic enough so that I don’t have to state what it is??
Told you it was random haha.

@FutureMrsT1221: Just say thanks for the gift…since you know it was booze of some kind maybe make a comment about how you enjoyed it or are looking forward to a boozy night with it.

@FutureMrsT1221: As a PP stated, I would write something generic as well!
“Thank you for your gift!! It was extremely generous of you, and will come in handy as FI and I share the contents for romantic evenings, or during times of stress with wedding planning:)”

@OUgal0004: thank you both! That’s the perfect way to word it. I just didn’t want to say “thanks for the gift” and not mention the actual gift so that’s perfect!
