Eek, we will definitely not be engaging in casual hook ups. In fact, we picked a resort NOT catering to college students because I didn't want my husband to have to drop kick any dudes. Or rather, have to break some hearts...

For one of my first Ob/Gyn visits, I put *1* in the number of partners box. I really had only slept with one person (I was almost 20 then and had only kissed maybe 5 people tops, including cheek kisses). The Doc looked at me very sternly and told me that she needed to know the total number, not the number I was sleeping with at the time of my appointment. It took me 5 mintues to explain that I was a late bloomer. She told me her skepticism came from my looking like a homecoming queen/head cheerleader to her. Huh? *facepalm*
This actually happened to me a little over a year ago. I wasn't engaged yet, but the nurse was trying to lecture me (in a judging way, unlike yours) and I had to stop her and say I was in a very serious relationship we had only ever been with each other, I wasn't worried about STDs. My experience wasn't as funny though.
I had the same lecture...from someone who went on to tell me that I just *had* to tell my dad she said hi... -headdesk- Let's just say that it didn't get passed along.

I'm glad she didn't say it in a b*tchy way, and since she's an old sweet lady that makes it different too, but I would have been shocked myself by her response. HAHAHA
Oh no, sorry about that Curlysue. Yeah, i'd imagine they wouldn't have hired a judgemental crabby old lady at a Women's Clinic. At least, I hope not. I'm sure they see it all there. Although, I'm sure she was thinking, "sigh, stupid girl...." lol =]
haha, that reminds me of my nurse that I used to go to in school for my BC. She was always giving me the "use condoms, even if you're in a longterm monogomous relationship" speech!
LOL LOL LOL!! Okay that is priceless!! I look really young so I am always getting lectured on going back to school to further my education, a child doesn't stop you from going to school, to which I respond, um I own my own business in event design, here's my card if you ever need a party planned. Also, I just may go back to school for BME, but it really doesn't work with my current career path. They usually don't say much aafter that...

So i started spotting through my fourth pack of Seasonique, so I called up my obgyn's nurse and said, "hey, i stopped my pills on the third week to menustrate (unplanned), but I plan on starting again on Wednesday...I'm going to Cancun that Saturday and want to know if I'll be protected that week or if I need to bring condoms?" Ya know, because of the whole 'need to be on it for a week' thing.
So then the nurse (the sweetest little old lady ever...) says, "oh, you'll be protected" then proceeds to lecture me about catching STDs from sleeping around with different men and to be very, very careful. Not in a disapproving/negative way, but more so in a very concerned way. I'm wondering, "why does she think i'm going to sleep around without condoms?"...at some point I made an awkward comment about condoms putting a "damper" on my trip. Yep. Me=Awkward. Then it hit me. She thought I was going for spring break....as in THE SPRING BREAK. So i told her i was going with my husband for a vacation...not spring break
Teehee. Probably scared her half to death, thinking I was going to go sleep around without condoms, then show up with a rash or something next month! Oops.
Lesson learned....make sure you tie in "irresponsible sex" conversations with "monogamous relationship" first...=]
Also...i was writing this story when my cat decided it was time to jump in the bath tub. Yep, it was full. Good times. Now i have a wet Mr. Sushi, my cramps don't feel better, AND I'm ready to pass out. But, alas, I don't need to buy condoms, lol.
