My husband asked me if he would be able to watch the Orioles game while I am in labor.  When I told him that I would expect that he would be attentive to me (if I need it) his response was, “Oh.  Well then I really hope you go into labor on an off day,”

Men.

@RahlyRah:  That’s hilarious.

My husband makes the Heisman pose any time he hears or sees a reference to “catching the baby”.

The husband went with me to the childbirth class, so he kinda has an idea of what is supposed to happen, but I don’t think he fully knows. We will see in a few weeks…..

My husband was really phenomenal with me during pregnancy/delivery.  He was my biggest advocate, and saved me from what could have been pretty bad.  (They brought me my regularly scheduled high blood pressure medication, when my blood pressure was already concerningly LOW post-epidural.  I wasn’t thinking, and would have taken it, but he knocked it out of my hand and told the nurse “She is NOT taking that.”)

However, once DD came out, he was HORRIFIED by her ears.  Did you know that newborn ears are stuck to the baby’s head?  He asked a nurse what was wrong with her, and the nurse said “Nothing, she’s perfect!”

And my poor DH just whispered “No…the ears.  Why are they like that?”

I crack up about it now, but he was really beside himself in the momentn.

@stardustintheeyes:  That is awesome, and I feel like that is how my DH is going to be.   I don’t think he fully understands all that is going into it, but I will probaly have the same thoughts as you, (thinking he is an awe, etc)  lol  Sometimes its good to be in la-la land 🙂  lol

No kids or preggers, but DH has already told me he will not be in the delivery room with me.  “You can just let me know when it’s born and everything is cleaned up”.  Thanks babe, I hope my Mum can be there for my support system…

My hubs has already decided that he wants his friends to tailgate the birth.  Like set up shop in the hospital parking lot and tailgate like they would a football game.  Yes, honey, lets have your drunk friends come in afterwards and hold our moments old baby.  Excellent idea.  He’s also said he’s just going to chill out in the waiting room, Mad Men style.  LOL.  I have a sneaking suspicion that he’s going to be overly involved in the birth.

ETA: After reading how a lot of your husbands reacted to the cone head, I texted him and said, you know right after the baby’s born he’ll have a cone head.  His response?  “And I’ll make fun of him”.  Hahahahahaha

LOL I have the greatest mental image of him standing there and whispering, “No…the ears…”
