@MUAbride2be:  I don’t have my ring yet, so I have no stories, but….retail customers are CRAZY!!!! I used to work in retail and we had some gems come in!

I have once gotten “How did you know he was proposing? It doesn’t look like an e-ring.” UM, because we planned it together? Because he said the words asking me to marry him? lol.

Actually the last time I was in a jewelry store looking for wedding bands with my FI, the saleslady looked straight at my ring and said snarkily, “Have you got an engagement ring yet?” I suppose mine didn’t count or something, haha.

I recently bought a fake ring to wear on my honeymoon, my fake ring is a halo set where my ring isnt and after the wedding when we have some extra cash my real ring will be put into a halo setting. So I was excited to get my fake ring to see what it looked like.

Ive had work mates ask why I bought the fake. When i answer that I dont want to wear my real one overseas. I get comments like “its not like anyone will steal it” or “take it and loose it so you can get your dream ring”

I work in retail too and get tons of comments on my ring. A lot of times customers want their friends who are shopping with them to come look at it. It’s flattering, but I’m really shy, so sometimes it makes me feel uncomfortable!

@CreatureFromTheBlackLagoon:  It implies that its small ect.

The definition of cute is ugly but interesting.

It also basically says “I have nothing nice to say about your ring”

Only one weird one so far (and it’s been a year).  Ran into an old coworker, who congratulated me on my engagement, and then followed with “is there a ring?”  I laughed and showed it to him, and he goes “OH, right, I forgot you were marrying a DOCTOR.”  My fiance (who is not a doctor, but is currently applying to med school) was appalled.

I wear a 1ct equiv moissanite, which I would totally have told him if I wasn’t so offended.

When I still lived in California, customers would say things like “I love your ring! Is it real?” I was always like “Heh, Yes -__-“. People can be so dense!
