The fella and I have been together for a while now….nearly common law thus making our house plentiful of more than enough of what we need. Would it be “un heard of” to have a new furniture fund instead of registering?

You can customize a HoneyFund to anything – you could make furniture entries instead of honeymoon ones. I’d go that route if you want!

My FI and I are in the same situation as you, together 11 years so we don’t need a lot of the normal registry stuff. We have a small registry (mostly fun stuff like new bedding, all new bathroom stuff…) but we will also list giftcard from a local furniture store we fancy as a seperate ‘registry location’

We have furniture on our wish registry (www.uponourstar.com) so I think you can totally still register for it- we are in a similar situation where the bulk of what we want/need is not the typical household stuff- so we have a very customized registry to things like that, including about 5 pieces of furniture!

I don’t think there is any difference in putting a toaster, a honeymoon or a furniture fund on a registry.
It’s still guiding people on what gift to buy.
The only thing I find revolting is asking for cash. Cash is undeniably measurable and it’s crass to ask for it.
