My wonderful fiance proposed on 1/31/14 with a beautiful round brilliant w/ a cushion shaped halo… at least I think that’s what this is considered, I’ve never looked much into these things. I did go and try rings on to see what I liked and what everyone told me ended up being true… I didn’t actually like what I always thought i wanted (antique filligree setting) once i saw it on my hand. So my mom & best friend let my boyfriend know what styles I like… which was the halo that made the round look more squareish.
He originally planned on buying a bigger stone for me, but considering he is finishing his PhD in Engineering, I convinced him it was uneccessary to spend the money on that when we were lucky enough to both have family stones to choose from… either a .85 oval or this .70-ish round brilliant… I really love the fact that it has history, but to be honest, once I had an idea that he was close to proposing, I got a little worried that it might end up being a bit on the small side, but considering i have tiny hands (size 4 1/2) and being an RN, I’m pretty rough with my hands, but I think the size ended up being absolutely perfect for me.
The setting is from Gabriel & Co and he said that they were priced well for the quality & that they were wonderful to work with…
I absolutely love it 🙂
