Anyone else getting an autumn cold yet? Both my daugher and I have one. =[ I bought Buckley’s the other day but, omg, I don’t remember that stuff being as bad as it is! It smells like perm solution and the texture of it is like mucus. I try really hard to take it but I’m a whiny baby and can’t lol. I also have been mixing honey in with tea but it doesn’t seem to be helping. I’ve even resorted to sucking honey straight out of the bottle (pretty image, right) but that grosses me out just as bad as the Buckley’s. Does anyone else have any at home remedies that won’t make me want to vomit? Lol. PLEASE! 😛

I am just getting over a cold! The best thing for me is as much sleep as I can get combined with drinking lots of tea! If your throat is really sore, you could also gargle salt water – not pleasant tasting but it usually works.

@yelhsa439:Oh no! Good luck! I hope you get over the cold! I know I’m hacking up a lung every 2 minutes and it’s soo not attractive. I hope that’s not the case for you!

OMG I knooow!! I’ve been exhausted for the last three days because I’ve been up with a dry hacking cough all night. On top of it all we just got a new kitten on Thursday night so he’s been a bit rowdy in the night time too. Thank god I work at home so I can take it easy 😉
I was literally about to log on to WB last night at 3am when I tears were streaming down my face from such violent coughing, to find out if anyone had a solution!
So far I’ve just been sucking on Cepacol extra strength tablets. They’re disgusting ’cause they numb your whole mouth but it somewhat soothes the throat.

Urgggg! I was sick for two weeks with severe bronchitis and am STILL coughing! Saw the doctor 3 times and several different drugs. I’ll be happy when the cough is gone. Hope you’re all feeling better!

For the girls with the cough that won’t go away:
Get some raw ginger root from your grocery store and cut off an inch . Take off the skin and chop up the ginger. Boil it with water to make a ginger tea. Add a little honey/lemon to taste and drink away. It’s my mom’s recipe and has gotten rid of many a cough (especially the ones after bronchitis which never seem to away).
PS. I also do a salt water gargle along with this but that’s mostly because of my sore throat.

I just started feeling yucky yesterday. No cough yet, but I can feel it in my ears. My daughter has been taking it easy on me and telling me she’s worried about me, which makes me smile everytime.

@MAlove: Thanks for the honey lemon tip! I just came down with a nasty cold, and I am getting no relief from pharmacy medication :(. This really does soothe it >.<

The one good thing about having this nasty cough – my abs are getting a workout, I think! Lol. They were just aching this morning when I got up.
I bought some Buckley’s pills this afternoon to try and take tonight. I hope they help. I need a good nights sleep!

I am just getting over this thing! I took Mucinex and Dayquil the first few days and then reduced to Mucinex and Sudafed.
