Wow, well at least he’s enthusiastic! I would talk to him and let him know just how crazy stressful such a short engagement could be and that to others it might look like you two are rushing to the alter.

Heehee… my BF’s sister got engaged after 5 years of being together… and she definitely had to threaten/push for it! You’d think with the fear of commitment he’d had that whole time that he would want to procrastinate a little bit but no, she wanted a 2 year + engagement, he only wanted 6 months…. and in the end, he won out with a 7 month engagement. It was stressful for her, planning and saving so quickly. But it can be done and now she is off celebrating her 1 year anniversary in the tropics with hubby whereas if she’d got her 2 year+ engagement she wouldn’t even be married yet! So now, in retrospect, she says the short engagement had its perks. Still, 4 months might be a little too short, unless you’re picturing something very small and simple.

Be honest with him about how long you think you’ll need to save for/plan a wedding, and what that might do to your TTC plans. I don’t think it should effect his proposal timeline if he is already so close!
