Sweetwater Branch is great, I attended a wedding there in January 2010 and it was sooo pretty, even though it rained! We're Gators living in Austin, and are planning to get married in the Ville in Nov 2012 - still looking at venues, though we're probably going to go with one of the following: Kanapaha Botanical Gardens, Baughman center, Gainesville Garden Club, or possibly Sweetwater Branch (although we're kind of set on getting Satchel's to cater :))

@MissToad: Congratulations! You guys are looking at great options. We looked at all those places as well. The convenience of Sweetwater really won us over. We LOVE LOVE LOVE Satchels too and have decided to do it for our rehearsal dinner. Good luck finding your venue!

I know these boards aren't very active but I'm just wondering if there are other brides who are planning to marry in Gainesville, Florida. If so, share a little bit about your wedding.
My fiance and I will be getting married and having the reception at Sweetwater Branch Inn on October 16, 2011. We antcipate about 100 guests and look forward to our little vintage wedding!
