My mom had gallstones. I’m not aware of any symptoms that she had other than extreme pain that would leave her curled up and wanting to cry. It was often triggered by eating really fatty foods.
She eventually had her gallbladder removed and the procedure wasn’t bad at all.

My sister had her gallbladder removed at 16 due to gallstones. She described the symptoms as a constant rumbling. When the pain would set it, it would be excruciating. I have had similar attacks – starts off as discomfort under my sternum, pain radiating across my collarbone and the upper right of my back. The pain comes in waves and escalcalates to excruciating. Although I have these symptoms, I’ve been checked twice for gallstones and don’t have them. It’s frustrating, because if there was an obvious cause, there would be a course of action to take. The pain has gotten so bad that I want to die. But as soon as the pain goes (about an hour), I am totally fine – just completely exhausted. We have a very strong family history of gallstones on my Mother’s side of the family.
At least if you do have gallstones, there are treatment options that will relieve your symptoms, so don’t stress! My sister was fine after having her gallbladder out via keyhole surgery.
Good luck and feel better soon.
