My fiance and I decided to do the standard registery locations (Pottery Barn, Target, etc) but then contacted a local artist and gallery to set up a registery there. We're providing a link on our website to the two pieces we would someday like to purchase and are hoping guests will donate some money toward the pieces. Guests can see the mock-ups of the two art pieces we'd like to purchase and a replica of where we'd like it placed in our home. I think this works because instead of 2-3 salad bowls, guests can actually get something they know will be a staple in our household for years to come.
Just wanted to get thoughts from fellow brides.
