Oooh, where are you having your wedding in Galveston?
We're getting married in front of the Garten Verein and then having our reception inside. Where are you thinking of having your ceremony?
My first wedding was going to be at the Hotel Galvez in front on the lawn and then reception inside. I just love that old building!
ooh i love galvez too! i love all the old historic buildings down there. our ceremony will be at Sacred Heart.
kujhawk04 our reception will be at the garten verein! (inside though, middle of july haha!!)
ohh yay.. We're doing the wedding at Kempner Park
and the reception inside the Garten Verein pavillion
3 more weeks!!! I can't wait :D :D :D :D

:D :D cool. well, i'm using an amateur photographer so I'm crossing my fingers!! I've heard it's hard to take pics. inside the pavillion b/c of all the natural light and glass windows.. but i will definitely post pics afterwards.. :D
oh my gosh i don't think you can go wrong w/any photographer inside the pavilion its so gorgeous, i think the windows and lighting will make them even more unique! what time does your ceremony start? i can't WAIT to see the pictures!!
3:30pm.. i REALLY wanted a sunset ceremony, but with it being a Sunday wedding there was just no way to do it .. urs?
its not sunset but will be so beautiful out!
our ceremony starts at 2pm at the church so i'm guessing we'll be at the reception at 3/3:30, kinda too soon for dinner so thats my dilemma.
We just did a wedding at Moody Gardens this weekend and it was AWE-SOME!! I highly recommend using their aquarium for the reception-you get to use the whole thing and it's just got a wonderful atmosphere. We loved shooting there so much!
Hey Ladies, I read these posts and couldn't help but want to show you a recent short video I made of a Galveston wedding. I'm not trying to solicit or anything, I just know that brides love to see photos and video of weddings in their own venue. Nurseamanda you should especially enjoy it because it was at Sacred Heart and Garten Verein! Galveston is a great place to film and both of those locations are fabulous. Enjoy!

I'm from Houston but I am getting married in Galveston! The ceremony will be at the gorgeous Grace Episcopal Church and the reception will be at the Garten Verein. I can't wait!
so many of us are having receptions/ceremonies @ garten verein! its going to fun to post/compare pics!
Jealous, nurseamanda. It was my childhood dream to get married in Sacred Heart... but I'll be getting married in a church no where near as beautiful in a state nowhere near as amazing :-) But, still... will be by the beach!
I am originally from Galveston (living in Austin). We're getting married at Sacred Heart Church and the reception is at the Tremont House's Davidson Ballroom. So excited!!!
