have you tried rings on with it - the picture looks like it doesnt set out that far? like if its a low profile ring, with the higher profile e-ring?
I have a similarly shaped e-ring. It comes out far on the sides. Even with my custom band (still being made) it is going to have a gap. If it weren't for the awesome jeweler we found I was going to get a very thin band. Your ring is stunning!
mine has a huge gap, and i chose a ring that didnt fit against my e-ring on purpose!

Ooooo...Clair....*drools*
I'm going to have a gap too...I just can't find anything to match my e-ring.
Clair your ring is gorgeous!! I think that may be the picture that definitely has helped me make up my mind!!
So this is my ring with my wedding band. Most of the time I wear my band on my right hand and my engagement ring on my left but sometimes I wear them together.
This is what mine looks like. it has quite the gap, but the band also needs to be sized. I think that after its sized it may sit a little better.

EDIT* sorry pic wont upload for some reason...I will try again later. =)
We just bought our wedding bands and I had the same issue. I'm really glad that I can wear my wedding band solo and together with my e-ring. I don't mind the gap at all -- in fact, I think it looks cool. Good luck with your
I'm so glad for this post! I have not gotten my band yet but will have the same problem!
I'm in this same situation right now! My ring has a matching band, but it is curved to accomodate the setting. I'm not sure if I want something curved :/ What if I want to wear just my band?
I keep going back and forth on this one!
I'm having the same issue, Missbelle. Mine came with a curved ring and I don't love how it looks without my e-ring. I thought about buying a plain, thin band for days I don't want to wear the whole set, like if we're at the beach or working in the yard.
@ Nic1520
Thanks for posting your rings. Mine will have about the same amount of gap. I am actually leaning toward not getting such a thin band. I am pretty sure I am going to embrace the gap and not try to minimise it.
All of the rings that have been posted i here are gorgeous!!
Hello, gorgeous ring by the way :) I think that would look stunning. I have a solitaire and am planning on having a gap for the same reasons. My main concern is make sure your wedding ring won't scratch your ering. For example, if your wedding ring is set with diamonds, they may rub against your gemstone. A way to be sure this won't happen is to try it on first or get a channel set ring. Lol, clearly I've been thinking about this a lot :)
Thanks @Little Audrey. I hadn't even thought about that!
Mine has a gap, but I think the gap really looks nice with this halo setting. I have only one band in this picture but Howard will purchase another one to go in front of it before the wedding.
There are bands that are made to go under the ring now, which is great.. But you should keep in mind ladies we will want to wear jus the e-ring alone or jus the band alone... its rare now a days i see ppl wear both..lol maybe the first couple years.
I have very small hands and worked really hard to find a ring where there wouldn't be a gap. If you really don't want a gap I suggest you keep looking and keep trying those rings on!
Here's mine! The E-Ring has been size and the wedding band has not that is the side difference.
Mine will def have a gap since the setting tapers into the head pretty drastically. I've been lusting after ribbon/braided styles lately what kind of work the gap into the design. I <3 this Kwiat band and am going to try it on this weekend!!

Oh. I will add to this.
I just got back from Mervis in DC and picked out my wedding band. Check it out. My engagement ring is an engraved Tacori setting with an Asscher cut diamond. I was initally going to get the matching plain engraved band but the sales consultant showed me this beautiful small Tacori with tiny diamonds that go halfway around. I love it. I really like that it is not contoured so I can wear it by itself if I want. They don't match by any means but I feel like they go together. What do you think? I love the gaps.
@mandiehoward - your gap is the most intentional-looking gap I've seen! I love the way it looks!
My ring is a claddaugh ring, so it would have a gap, but I ended up just getting a plan gold band and wearing my engagement ring on my right hand. I actually like it that way because it gives me the freedom to wear just my wedding ring
My ring def. has a gap, not nearly as apparent as some, but it's there. I had to get my engagement ring and wedding band soldered together due to the design of the engagement ring, so, many people ask if I'm married (nope, not yet!
) .
Excuse the gi-normous fingers!
here's mine, they told me they can 'soften' the gold on both bands and make them fit better as well
My ring juts out too, but our jeweler said they can re-purpose (is that the right word?) the underside of the ring on one side so a wedding band can fit flush to the engagement ring.
ClairDarling Your rings are gorgeous! I love the purposeful look of that gap. I think you have just helped me decide what style of wedding ring I want (my E-ring is a similar style to yours).
I LOVE the gap. I specifically wanted one in my set. I find it elegant and vintage-like. Here's my gap:

I am currently looking aroung at Wedding band options. My e-ring sticks out 2mm on either side of the band on the e-ring. I am not keen on getting a custom ring made as I would like to be able to wear the band alone if I choose not to wear my e-ring. At the moment I am thinking of a really thin (1mm) diamond band like this one (possibly one on either side):
Here is my e-ring for reference:
so...to cut a long story short, does anyone have any pics of their wedding band and e-ring with a gap? I am really interested in going this route but am finding it hard to find pics of rings ith gaps!!
I'm also open to any suggestions for rings that you think will look good with my e-ring.
