I’ve been set on getting a wedding band that fits snugly with my engagement ring, but due to the tricky shape of it, I’d most likely be looking at something custom made (and possibly more expensive).
I decided to play around with my ring today and toyed with the idea of getting a straight wedding band instead – I just got another one of my rings which happened to be gold and put it on backwards to get some idea of what it would look like:
It would mean less mucking around trying to get something custom made for a decent price, which also appeals to me, but I’m kind of liking how it looks. I know heaps of you out there have rings with “The Gap” and they look beautiful on you, but I was wondering what you all think of what could possibly be mine?

I have the same kind of gap, so I vote go for it.

@ksus07: I like that band with your e-ring. The gap looks like a style and doesnt look like a gap. I dont know exactly how to word that, but those two ring look like they belong together.

The gap looks really good. Lovely e-ring by the way 😀

I really like the look of it, if you are happy with it you should go for it.

As long as the wedding ring is the same width as the band of your engagement ring, it will look great. I previously had a wedding ring made to fit in with my engagment ring (previous marriage), and the two would twist around from each other, which I found irritating.

Definately do it, looks great. My e-ring is similar to yours in that the stoneis held top and bottom and i love this look

@ksus07: I think a straight band looks really nice! I like the ERing and wedding band looking like two distinct rings. Sometimes when you have the matching band it just looks like your ERing has a wide shank rather than you are wearing two rings

I prefer rings with a gap. I like when both rings stand out. I’m going to have a gap and mixed metals! And you’ll be able to wear the band alone if you want! Go for it, your set looks beautiful! ! Maybe try some different widths/heights of bands on and see what size compliments your ring best.

@ksus07: Go for it! It actually looks really good 🙂

Definitely go for it!! I WISH I had a gap. People are always asking me if I’m going to get a wedding band (I have a matching band and it reeeally looks like just one ring, haha).

I’m not normally a fan of gaps, but I think it looks great with the gap!

@ksus07: yes! This is a gap that I like!

@ksus07: Definitely go for it! I have a gap like that! I love that you can tell it’s two different rings 🙂
