Since I’m on a roll thinking about home stuff lets talk garages! lol Can you tell that we’re moving soon and I’m thinking about what I want in a house wherever I end up?
Do you have a garage?
Is it attached or detached?
Does it have a door? or is it more of a car port?
Do you acutally park your car in it? or are you a hoarder and store too much stuff in it!?
I kid about the hoarding part… kind of. (some of the garages I’ve seen makes me scared)
Also when I say carport I mean somehting like this. Could be separate from the house.. or built on, but still completely open air like this.

Also I’d like to answer the questions…
We don’t have a garage currently. I really wish we did though. When I did at my old rental (I was by myself) I parked my car in it. I didn’t have much to store since it was just me and I had a two bedroom place with lots of room. So it was my car, bicycle, and a minifridge (that wasn’t plugged in)
ETA: If our next place has a garage, we will definitely park our cars in it. Love not having to deice my car (on those rare freezing FL mornings, lol) love having it stay a bit cooler, and love avoiding the rain while getting in and out of the car.

We have a two-car garage separated from our house by a breezeway (so we can walk between the garage door to the house door without getting wet when it rains; the breezeway has a roof).
Yes, we park cars, riding lawnmower, regular lawnmower, 3 bicycles and have lots of yard working tools in there. We’re not that organized but it’s a big space; it was custom built several square feet larger than a regular two-car. I love it.

We have an attached, 2 car garage with automatic doors. It is currently used to house 2 tractors, a snow blower, a lawn sweeper, a lawn aerator, a lawn dethatcher, a walk behind mower, Mr. Lk’s collection of lumber for various projects, Mr. Lk’s tools, and random other crap. We want to build a barn for all of that stuff so that we can actually put our cars in the garage, but that will run us $30-50k (probably more since we haven’t got quotes yet) or so, so we have a lot of saving to do.

We have a 2.5 car attached garage. We park both our cars in it (SUVs) and use the rest for storage (lawn mower, snow blower, grass seed, etc).

We have a two car garage, but we don’t actually park in there. I keep the cats litter boxes out there, the washer and dryer, and assorted other stuff.

We have a two car attached garage. We both park our cars in there and use it for storage, but we don’t have a lot to store, just skis, hockey equipment, some extra patio furniture, etc.

We have a 2 car attached. we keep our cars and trash in it. We keep the clutter in the basement

We have an attached 2 car garage park both our cars in it. Our neighbors on both sides don’t park in their garage, which I think is nuts. It’s Canada… why the heck do you fill your garage with so much crap that you now have to scrape frost off your vehicles all winter??
We keep our lawnmower, shovels, etc and some tools along the sides of the garage and organized in shelves.

Currently, we have an open parkade, it’s 2 levels. On the really cold days there have been times when many of us can’t get our cars started, even with the block heaters.
For a house a 2 car garage was a must-have, and an attached was a strong want. We got it!
The garage is awesome. It’s oversized and has storage built in the top, almost like a mini-attic. We’ll start some stuff in there as there’s no shed, and we’ll probably have some stuff around the edges for easy access like the lawnmower until it’s not needed in the fall.
I do know people who have their garages so packed with stuff they can’t park in there which is just stupid in the winter IMO.

2 car garage, attached. both vehicles are in it, plus lawn mower, to snow blower, to wood for fire place to other junk in it.

We have an attached 2-car garage and we park our cars in it. A garage was actually a must-have item for our house because we hated parking cars outside. Most people in our neighborhood use garages for storage and park in the driveway.

We will be looking for a 2 car attached in addition to a 2 car detached. 2 attached is the minimum if there is room to build a separate one.

We have an attached one car garage which we thought was an awesome find during our house hunt. We have yet to park our car in it… What really annoys me is whatever idiot installed our automatic door decided to put the one button to close it by the garage door and NOT by the entrance to the house.
