It's pretty. I have no clue how you would DIY unless you can find directions somewhere.
I JUST saved this in my photos on projectwedding.com like an hour ago! they said that they used shredded plastic cellophane in the jar and battery operated white lights
There are DIY instructions here:

I'm thinking of trying to use fresh flowers, and hiding the battery pack somewhere on the table, maybe under another cluster of flowers. We'll see what the florist comes up with!

These might help you. They are silk Illuminated Flowers that operate on batteries (easiy to hide the battery pack) and re-useable. They create a magical effect. Very cool. The flowers are at www.BellaAeris.com
I think that looks pretty. At night your centerpieces will look great!

I have been completely uninterested in my reception centerpieces until I saw this.
I'm not so keen on the silk flowers they used, but I LOVE the idea of a lit centerpiece. Anybody done this or seen anything similar? I was thinking of trying to DIY part of it and getting the florist to supply the flowers. I've e-mailed the florist to check how much it will cost (it will be a small wedding, so we don't need that many centerpieces) and what they can do.
What do you think? Do you like it or think it's tacky?
