So we have decided that we are going to do both a bouquet and garter toss (I know a lot of people choose not to and/or are not a fan of these traditions)….but we still want to skip the part where the guy who catches the garter places it on the leg of whoever catches the bouquet.
We are making a note of this with our DJ….but I am curious if anyone else has done a garter toss without the last part as well? Did the guy who caught the garter just keep it? Would love to hear how you ladies did and/or plan on doing the garter toss (if you’re doing one at all).
1 month from today! 🙂

@kittylove13: The last two weddings I went to had a garter toss and bouquet toss but didn’t pair them up after. Both cases the guys ended up wearing the garter like a headband (after lots of drinks prior). I think it’s fine to totally skip that part.

@kittylove13: I think it’d be fine to skip that part. You could offer up a prize (a bottle of liquor perhaps) for catching the garter and the guy can then trade in the garter for his prize?

Usually I’ll see people do the bouquet toss and skip on the garter. I’ve also seen DJs have the girl who catches the bouquet put the garter on the guy. All that said, it’s your wedding so you get to make up your own rules. Have fun, whatever you decide. 🙂

@kittylove13: I love bouquet and garter tosses, I think they’re fun! I’ve never heard of putting the garter on the bouquet catcher.. No no I would be mortified lol After my friend caught the bouquet and my other friends bf caught the garter we took a couple silly pics then my Darling Husband winked at him and said I’m gonna need that garter back. He stuffed it in his pocket and we all went and had a round of shots! The guy who caught the garter proposed a few weeks ago!

@kittylove13: Yup, we definitely skipped the last part. The guy who caught the garter just kept it.
