has anyone gotten married in the smoky mountains in this part of tennessee? i'm getting married there in july and i wanted to know if anyone had any comments about it or any suggestions where to go or what to do on a honeymoon there or even great places to stay. (we're renting a cabin for the week of the wedding and then we're not sure yet about the honeymoon except that it will be in that area).

I'd check out TripAdvisor.com. The FI and I are staying at a cabin rented out by All Seasons for a vacation in February; the reviews say their cabins are great honeymoon spots, but you might be all cabin-ed out after a week in one for the wedding. It'll be too cold for us to do much exploring, but the mountains are beautifu!

My husband and I just took a mini honeymoon there since we had to be back before Thanksgiving. We rented a chalet with a jacuzzi and a hot tub, which I highly recommend. There are plenty of things to do. Definitely plan to go to Bullfish Grill for dinner. It's hands down one of the best restaurants ever. There are some great mini golf places, of course Dollywood amusement park, and Ober Gatlinburg where you can ski and ice skate. (I think that is open year round.) The best way to tour Gatlinburg is to park at the welcome center and catch a trolley for 50 cents each. This eliminates expensive parking on the parkway or main strip. There are tons of shops to visit and outlet malls. We've gone the past 2 years, so if you have any specific questions, just IM me. HTH!
