I believe this song was used on a movie soundtrack...that might give you some insight into the meaning of the song. I believe it was called Tristan & Isolde??
It's from the movie Tristan and Isolde which was about forbidden love. Honestly, no one will be analyzing the lyrics and no two people interpret the same song the same way. As long the lyrics have meaning to you and your fiance, however you interpret it, then go ahead and use it and other people's opinions don't matter in the end. That said, I think it's an acceptable choice for a first dance. But I could easily understand if someone else didn't think so.
I like it and I dont think alot of people will sit there trying to interpret the lyrics, its a very pretty song. And to be a complete dork, Haley and Nathan on One Tree Hill used it as their first dance song.

So I LOVE the song "We Belong Together" but I am not the best at diciphering lyrics. I found some websites with the song's meaning but some people think it's about 2 people that found each other and that life is meaningless unless they are with one another, and then some people think it's about 2 people that were together and now they're aren't so that's why he hopes she "finds his gift" of love later on in life.
I don't want a song about NOT being together for our first one so anyone know what it's about?
