I first heard of gel eyeliner from MsGloss's recent post.  Any other users of this product?  What do you think?  Does the application take some getting used to?

I have yet to try this but some of my friends already use gel eyeliner and rave about it. I believe the application is just like liquid liner but I can be absolutely wrong about that. I will probably try it in the near future myself.

I think it's easier to use than liquid liner because it's a little more thick and you use a brush to apply. It will still take practice though!! Gel liner looks less dramatic than liquid liner. I like MAC gel liners but have heard great things about Bobbi Brown too.

Bobbi Brown gel liners rock my world.  Make sure you get the proper brush...it makes all the difference!

I use MAC gel liner, and it is amazing. I have had the worst time trying to find a liner that actually stays put..and gel liner is the only one that does it for me. I agree though, the brush is the key. You can make the line as thick or thin as you want, and it doesn't budge!

My MUA used MAC gel eyeliner.  {shrug} Not impressed.  I could've just used liquid eyeliner (although that doesn't smudge to soften like a gel liner does).

Gel eyeliner is a great alternative for those that are uncomfortable with using liquid eyeliner because you have better control.  Mac and Bobbi Brown make great gel eyeliners but if you are looking for an affordable gel liner, I suggest checking out Coastal Scents (http://www.coastalscents.com/cfwebstore/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&product_id=1663)--their gel liners come in an assortment of colors.  If you have oily lids, I suggest using an eye primer before applying eye makeup.  Urban Decay makes a fantastic eye primer called Eyeshadow Primer Potion that you can pick up at Sephora.

makeupforever also makes a great gel liner..available at sephora and is a little cheaper than bobbi brown gel liners.

I love the Bobbi Brown gel eyeliners.  A little pricer than some, but they stay on really well and look fantastic.  Miss Quiche is right--it's all about the brush!

I agree with the Urban Decay primer potion. If you're worried about smudging, pick up BeneFit she-laq. It's like a top coat for your eyeliner, and it will keep everything right in place through tears and sweat and rubbing! Also, if doing your own make-up, I highly reccomend Revlon color-stay foundation way over any department store brand. It stays really fresh.

Any suggestions for a drugstore gel liner?  Anyone use their loose mineral makeup and mix with water to make a gel/paste/liquid?

I had my makeup trial about a month ago, and they strictly use all Bobbi Brown cosmetics.  She used the gel eyeliner, and when I tell you that it stayed on, it really stayed on.  I am going to get some for myself for the wedding just in case I have to retouch it.  However, the makeup artist told me that she never worries about the brides eyes, she only worries about their lips (obviously).  I highly recommend her eyeliner.  The smashbox one wasn't even nearly as good as Bobbi Brown's and it wore off right away.
