I just got my first gel pedicure. I’m on week three and it looks perfect. My fingernails didn’t last nearly as long, but I think that was due to poor application. I imagine I’ll have the polish removed after week 4 just to avoid having my nails under polish for so long.

@roxy821:  I’ve gotten gel manicures, but normal non-gel pedicures always seem to last 3 weeks anyway so the added cost + hassle of removing the polish is not worth it to me.

Although my beautician offers gel pedicures not many customers have them.  I usually get a gel manicure and a normal salon pedicure or even just a file and varnish on my feet and it lasts as long as the gel manicure if not longer -usually up to three weeks.  I only tend to take the pedi varnish off because I am either bored with the colour or my nails have grown.  My gel manis never chip I just get them taken off after two to three weeks depending on how fast my nails grow.

I never bother with gel pedis because I find that the polish lasts so long on my toes, its growing out before it’s chipping anyway.  It would be a total waste of money for me.

I too only do the gel manicures. My toes rarely chip, so it’s not really worth the extra expense to me.

Mine lasted for about 6 weeks. I would do it again only if I was going on vacation to the beach. Otherwise, it is a pain to remove it.

SOOO worth it! But only for the OPI gel color. It stays incredibly shiny for weeks. I do my own an will never go back.

I do my own gel manicures and pedicures. The pedicures last much longer, simply because I don’t use my toes for anything. My finger nails typically grow out too far (I can’t stand long nails) and I end up having to clip them down before my polish needs to be removed (or the grown out nail is really wide and I hate the way it looks haha). Regular polish doesn’t stay on me for anything, so I only use gel.

And yes, it is a huge pain to remove, but at least it stays on.
