There are definitely shoes that use the less expensive plastic and acrylic crystals that you can buy at craft stores but I'd highly suggest getting glass Swarovski or Preciosa crystals. They cost more, yes, and it sucks to have to wait for an order (I'm waiting on some right now, haha) but they look a ton nicer. Precosia are slightly cheaper than Swarovski but are still beautiful.
I'd also suggest buying some nice shoes. I'm saying you need a pair of Loubies, but for the amount of work you'll be putting into them I'd pick out shoes that were at least department store quality (Steve Madden, Jessica Simpson, Nine West, etc) and stay away from the cheaper Payless and Charlotte Russe type shoes.

I am going to DIY my shoes and cover them with Gems. I was just wondering if anyone else had bought gems at like Michaels or Hobby Lobby. If you did how did they look. Were they shiny like the ones you can order online. I would love to order them online but I am kind of inpatient and I want to get the gems today. But I don't want them to look cheap! Such a hard decision would LOVE feedback on this situation!
