Both of these ideas sound kinda over the top… just my opinion though.

I think I like the first one better. That’s way more work than I would do either way, but if you’re into it then I like the first idea best.

Bring a trusted friend or family member to the appt and have the tech tell them ONLY what the gender is– then do idea #2 that is SUPER cute!!!

I think the one where your family and guests get to open their own boxes is really cute and would be fun for them, too.

Can you pre-make one box with mario and one box with peach, then have the tech give you only one of them back? Or at least mark the one that it isn’t, so you have the one that it is?

Another vote for “you might have to let someone else in on it.”  They’ll give you an envelope and seal the gender in it and you could have your mom or someone prepare your surprise right before you open it.

@MamaHusky3:  Oh, I was thinking you could do that with Idea #2 as well. You have 19 boxes with gold coins at home, and you bring two boxes to the appointment, one with the mario stickers and one with the peach stickers. Then you get one back at the appointment, add it to the 19 boxes at home, and there you go! No involving other people ๐Ÿ™‚

I thought through stuff like this a lot when I thought the timing would work for some family friends and my parents to get the reveal at the same time, but then our appointment got moved up, and we just had the tech tell us. But I understood the resistance to having people know before you do.

I think either idea is cute, although I think you really “involve” others in the process more with #2. And you don’t buy one plush toy you can’t use, you only buy some extra chocolate, and that’s not a bad thing ๐Ÿ˜‰

I think #2 is cute!  I think people would have a lot of fun being the lucky one to make the annoucement!
