I am the father of a bride who hired George Street Photography for my daughter’s wedding. It took us two and one half months to get our digital photos. They had priomised in 4-6 weeks. Their cutomer service was a nightmare.

I am sorry to hear that ! Where was your wedding location and if u don’t mind what photographer did you use ? How did the pics come out when you did finally get them ? I know they say 4-6 weeks and you got in 10 weeks over all that still good turn around I know people that used independent photo and still haven’t gotten albums over a year now. Please any other info you have would be greatly appreciated

We are in NYC and considering George Street photo and video as well…we met with the rep today and she was great, the prices are pretty decent and she showed us portfolios of several photographers until we found one that we liked.

Here’s what we did not like: you don’t actually get to meet the photographer until the day of the shoot (if you get engagement photos done, like we are planning to) then you get to meet the photographer then…but if you meet the photographer and you’re not crazy about him/her, they agree to change the photographer to someone else (which, of course is scary too!). It just seems a bit odd that you communicate with a wedding coordinator the entire time instead of the person actually doing the photos.

To Phil: Thank you for your post…could you put up some more info? Location? How was the photographer on the day of the wedding? And most importantly, How did the actual photos come out?

Thanks for your help everyone!

Also – does anyone know why it takes them so long?  Do they try to sell you prints while you wait for the digitals or something?  All over the net they say that it takes forever to get the digitals – why?

Wedding photography is a highly personal process, and having a connection between you and your photographer is essentiall for good results.  A little difficult when you never know who you’re getting.
