I dont know prices of rose but I got a price quote for gerbera's...
I'm getting the following:
1 bridal bouquet
1 toss away bouquet
2 bridesmaids bouquets
8 Boutonnieres and 7 coursages
The quote came to $520.
You should definitely check out Costco for Gerbera Daisies. I am getting my bouquets from a normal florist, but am using 160 more gerbera daisies for decorations. You can either order them online and they will be shipped directly to you on your chosen date (http://www.costco.com/Browse/Productgroup.aspx?Prodid=11296437&whse=BC&Ne=4000000&eCat=BC|62777&N=4018715&Mo=46&No=43&ViewAll=47&Nr=P_CatalogName:BC&cat=62788&Ns=P_Price|1||P_SignDesc1〈=en-US&Sp=C&topnav=) or you can call the florist at a local Costco and they can order them for you and have them waiting at the Costco closest to you when you're ready to pick them up. Hope this helps!
I would get them at cosco. Gerbera daisies are so pretty I was thinking of having them for my wedding...
Another thoughts is to look into your local floral mart - that is the wholesale floral shop where florists go to purchase their flowers. Its open to the public and every city has them. Good Luck
I was surprised by how much they cost through a florist. I was quoted around $60-75 for a bouquet of 12.
I'm sure it's much cheaper if you DIY though.
I should clarify my prices.. my bridesmaids bouquets were $30 each for 3 gerberas. My bridal bouquet was $150, and the throw away bouquet was $25. I can't remember prices on the bouts and cours.
A florist I met with over the weekend told me the cost of gerberas were pretty close to the cost of roses.
A lot of flowers look pretty with gerberas! I saw the prettiest bouquet on theknot (below) and was told the accompanying flowers are peonies (which sadly aren't available in October)
I met with another florist who looked at me like I was crazy for wanting gerberas at all! She kept trying to talk me out of it!! horrible experience, to say the least!

Florists are ridiculous. You mention the words bridal bouquet and most have a flat rate of $150. I took the same idea I wanted to a smaller florist I knew and she charged me $50--4 large gerbers, with 6 hot pink roses, white carnations and kermit mums and some other things I had no idea what they were but were gorgeous! I will attach a pic. They are definetly cheaper by DIY.
A Rose currently Cost $3.00 Retail
a Gerbra Daisy cost $4.50 Retail, Not cheaper than roses, and They take more labor time for the florist because they should be Taped and wired to avoid a drooping head.
So what would cost difference be between a bouquet like this (gerbs only):

compared to something like this:

Holy crap, sorry that pic is so big!
when buying them at Costco, or any other whole saler, are you planning on arranging them yourselves? i've considered doing this, but don't know how realistic it is to expect that i'll do an ok job. although i think it would be kind of fun to do...
@arubagirl for a plain, just gerbs bouquet from a florist you probably are looking between $150-180 (depending on area/season/florist), to make a reg. sized hand tied bouquet (9" diam. or about the size of a dinner plate)
For the rose one, probably between $170-200, because of the wax flower and size.
But price can be greatly reduced by lowering stem count.
@arubagirl: are the pink gerbras yours? if so, I love them! I'm also wanting to do gerbra daisies for my weddding

Any bees know what the general price range is for gerbera daisies? Where are they priced compared to roses? Also, any thoughts on what other flowers look good with them?
