Aww I'm sorry. Just think of the wonderful wedding stuff that you can put that extra money towards :) and Karma always bites bad bosses in the butt!!
Thankfully, My boss isn't bad. lol. The guy he's training just drives me nuts. I've never worked with him before. haha. But my other supervisor told me to just start bossing him around! lol.
At this point I'm thinking "Crap! Christmas!" More than wedding stuff right now. I have a 4 hour shift on Thanksgiving, too. So That will help!
i'm with ya with the working with idiots and its too bad money didn't grow on trees...i had to swallow my pride and work Ot this wk ( *sigh" wedding $)..after having my manager and my supervisor both tell me that my laughin has to stop ..eventhough everyone around here is either just as loud or louder then me ..and that they don't want me helping anyone ..thats true customer serv at its best..lol..Its ok to help the vendors but screw ur own dept.. So now i checking out other jobs..haha Anyways ..sorry your day is sucking ..
You know the woman that hasn't been fired , but could be tonight ..well the reason why she's not smartening up could be because of unemployment , if u quit a place , than u can't get it , but if u get fired or laid off , your chances are better to get it ..or maybe she has another back up job . Or maybe cuz shes just plain STUPID ..whatever the case, i am sorry your getting screwed here , i know how it feels ..

HisBarista--i'm glad your boss is good then! And I feel you about christmas. Textbook sellback money is paying for that or otherwise I'm not sure people would be getting christmas gifts from me! :) Ok, well, just small gifts.
Oh, no. She's been having money problems, and hasn't been able to find a second job. I know she's been looking. To an extent I feel bad for her. I really like her...and at the same time this is an aweful time to be looking for jobs, and you don't know how much unemployment you're going to get. Which is why I really hoped she'd start doing better. I just found out from a supervisor that she made a customer so mad she was crying. I've never seen a sutomer that mad before, so my hunch is starting to become more of a "it's gonna be tonight for sure" kind of deal.
At least you're allowed OT, Bratt! I'm not...if we work over 40 hours, we get in trouble. It's hard to get that many when all the Barista's are part time and have to pick up shifts at other stores to make get that many. haha. I'm sorry you're having a hard time, too!
@ cinema-I think almost everyone is going to end up getting photo greeting cards from us, unless we can pay off a few bills and have something left over! haha.
*hugs* We saw alot of our hours get cut at the *Big Corp Bigstore* this summer but we seem to have leveled out. It's almost impossible for us to get fired, though... feeling for ya!
Well, turns out I only had 3 HOURS before I started a second 4.5 hour shift. The girl was suspended for a week, but my Manager told an applicant that he may have an opening in a week...so he might be getting her vacation hours and sick pay cashed out and ready to go on her final check. I hope not. Both sides of the story are so different it blows my mind. I picked up another double shift on Monday as well. *sigh*. I keep thinking positive...it's Christmas. We can have a good one this year (last year was our first x-mas and it was kinda depressing, lol) if I can save up an extra hundred bucks or so for fun, not just the wedding/savings account. We'll see what happens!
At least tomorrow I can hope I won't get splattered with Soy and Eggnog and hope I won't have to face a clogged Men's toilet. my fingers are crossed...
Thanks Barista and Cinema- I know i lucky about Ot..and normally wouldn't complain..but this just wasn't the wk i was in the mood , i just keep hoping Sat was my last time doing ot for this place... Hell i'm a place with my work..where i won't care if they fire me.,.i won't deliberately screw things up, but i won't go out of my way for pple as i once did..
Anyways , barista - With the holidays comin up , there will be a lot of pple needing the work..so u may not need to work more than ur 40 hrs for very long . I feel for the girl thats about to possibly get fired , but after what u said about her makin the customer cry ( b 4 this job i worked retail close to 10 yrs i have never seen that either ) i really suspect she wants to get fired..or again maybe shes just STUPID ...either way its always the hard working pple that get punished b/c of the lazy and stupid pple. I hope things work out with u ..and as pple have been telling me alot these days " we should be lucky we have jobs" ..noone ever said we had to like them..lol Good luck!

My boss came into work today and within minuets started trying to get shifts covered. This means, even though I opened I might go back and close. I asked him what was going on, and he said he couldn't say. I knew last week a couple people were on the verge of being fired. One was, the other is still here. Well, the one that didn't get fired is suddenly getting her shifts covered (from what I could see on the schedule). I think she's getting fried tonight. If you knew you were on the verge of being fired would you not want to do everything in your power to freaking smarten up so you could keep you Job?!?!?! And on top of that The Manager my boss is training for another store is a freaking idiot! Everything about my day was fine before he got there. He claims he's worked for Starbucks before, but doesn't know how to do anything! Why do I have to teach the higher ups to do their job, God Damn It?!?! Especaily if I can do their job for them and I'm not getting paid for it? I was seriously doing 2 jobs at once because he was just leaning against the FREAKING counter while we were busy! Grrrrrrr!
*Sigh.* Sorry. Just needed that out of my system if I really do pull a double and close tonight. It's going to suck, since I open again tomorrow. Fun Fun. IT's too bad money doesn't grow on trees...
