Try Shades of Pale http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Shades-of-Pale-Bridal-The-Little-Velvet-Box/196879553692866 I got my dress from them and it was "just so" absolutely perfect. You can also look at the dresses that they have made before on their facebook page. I don't think that getting a dress from China is really a risk as long as you choose a good factory and not some total unknown place. Good luck getting your dress.
Why is no one else answering this for 3 days... weird.

So I'm wanting to get a wedding dress for cheapcheap because I fall into the category of people who think it's ridiculous to spend a fortune on a dress you wear once. That said, I do still want to it be really nice and I'm a pretty particular person.
One option that I've considered is getting my dress custom made. My sister lives in Cambodia, and has gotten clothes custom made there for super super cheap, and they are amazing. I mean that's where most of our clothes come from anyway, she's just cutting out all the middlemen and going straight to the local source really.
Now of course the challenge here is that I'd just be sending photos of dresses that I like and then trusting the person there to get it right (this is how my sister has done it, so far with great success) along with my measurements... and then have it sent to me and get it properly fitted by a tailor here.
I really don't know anything about tailoring wedding dresses to know what that would cost, and I know there's a risk in getting someone else to make a dress on the other side of the world. However I'm not super hung up on some "dream dress" fantasy where it has to be zomg just so (though I do want it to look great) and I really really want to save money. Does anybody have any thoughts or experiences to share to help me weigh the pros and cons of this option?
