Hey everyone, relatively new to the forum but I wanted to ask a question. I feel as though I have lost some of the good shape I was in earlier and for reason this makes me relatively uncomfortable about heading back to the gym. Especially if I think about working out with the same people that I have worked out with before, you really do not want go back there feeling uncomfortable about yourself.
I am considering getting a rower for working out at home. This way I can train most of the important muscles while still managing to get my heart rate up to the point where it is going to be beneficial for losing weight.
I am also considering going low-carb or no-carb for that matter in the next few months. Is there anyone else who has managed to get back in their old shape after letting themselves go a bit? I guess I could just use the motivation and to find out what did the trick for you.
Does anyone have any experience buying from http://www.gymsource.com/rowers ?

Last year I lost almost 40pounds strictly working out at home. No special meal plan. Just kept my calories under 1300 and worked out at least 45 mins every other day. I think the rower is a great idea. This year I’m doing zumba 3 times a week. So much fun

I did low carb 2 years ago and lost 25 lbs in 5 months. Be careful with this because my cholesterol went up (into the 200 range) I’ve since stopped eating meat entirely and am transitioning to vegan because since moving across the US twice in 2 years, I’ve out on around 40 lbs. my Fiance and I have the P90X workouts and will be starting them as well as a gym membership soon. I wanna get a headstart on getting in shape since we’re getting married next year. Hope this helps!

On January 1st of this year I started a low carb diet as well as going to the gym, running and taking fitness classes (I need variety or I get bored). In those 5 months I have lost 46lbs and my energy and endurance levels are so much higher. In the beginning I was also uncomfortable going to the gym because I was so terribly out of shape so I would go for jogs and do boxing at home with a Wii game called golds gym cardio workout. After 2 months I was comfortable enough with my weight and fitness level to go to the gym and take classes. You can do it!!!

The last time I was in pretty good shape was summer 2010, when I was biking to school and working out at the gym for at least 8 hours a week. To get back into shape, I started running using a (free) Couch to 5K app, and I love it! I really like how it’s helped me improve gradually. Also, Fiance and I really don’t eat a lot of carbs, we eat a lot of baked chicken with veggies and one of our favorite dishes is bell peppers stuffed with ground turkey.
