So I'm at the task of getting my Fi's baptism certificate. His parents are military and gave me the name of the station but I've googled and googled and can't find a place to call or email. Any ideas how to go about this?

I would go to a local Catholic church and find out how you can contact another Catholic church, most probably through the Vatican.  I am jumping through a lot of hoops invovling the Church right now myself (my FI is Catholic, I was baptized Protestant) because we're planning on getting married in his family's church in Darjeeling, West Bengal.  Keep us up to date n' I'll look forward to hearing how everything goes!

I finally found a news article that said the church he was baptized in was closed in 1999... hmm now what?

Whenever someone partakes of any of the seven sacraments in a Catholic church (baptism, marriage, ect.) it goes in a big book they keep.  Maybe when the church closed the book went to another church or back to the Vatican?  I've found a lot of good info on the Vatican's official site, http://www.vatican.va/ , so maybe there will be something pertaining to your situation there too.  Good luck.

See if you can figure out what diocese the church was in.  I'm not sure, but I think it would make sense that records would go to the diocese.  Think of it sort of as the "regional office" for the Catholic community there.  If you can tell us the church and city, maybe we can help the search!

This is an old post but i just wanted to let everyone know that all military sacramental records go to the Military Archdiocese. It's convenient but it does take an awful long time to get the certificates!
