I’ve been messing around with lighting, different cameras, angles…trying to get a picture of my ring that really does it justice. I finally got a nice one focused on the center stone and I used some free Photoshop actions to adjust the color and make my hand look smoother (haha). What do you think?

Very nice! Looks print worthy.
I’m still struggling with getting a good pic of mine.

Looks very nice. 🙂
I am still trying to figure out how to do my ring justice in a photograph. Anyone know how to capture the sparkle?

@MapleMoose: I’d take some after you’ve had it cleaned so it’s already nice and sparkly. I’ve also heard natural light is great because your ring captures so much of it.
Here is a link that has all sorts of tips on getting great photos of your ring! I’m excited to play with some photos during winter break.

Did you download a free photoshop program that changed your skin? If so, can you share the link? I think the picture looks great! Beautiful ring!

I used the free photoshop actions from Pioneer Woman. You can download them at http://thepioneerwoman.com/photography/2010/03/actions-update-2/ .
I used both sets and used “warmer”, “boost” twice and “lovely and etherial”. The “boost” really highlighted the sparkle in the ring and “lovely and etherial” helped smooth out my skin. I use L&E on just about every picture with people because it smooths out everything and makes you look nicer!
I also definitely recommend natural light. I stood right by the window for this one, but shaded the ring from direct light and got the most sparkle that way.
