how do you become a member of your church?  bc if it is simple, that may be the way to go

but if not, do it at teh same spot!

My wedding and reception are at the same venue. Wedding outdoors (weather permitting) but if not, we plan to set up for the ceremony on the side of the hall we plan to have our dance on.

Is this something you might be able to do? Maybe create a nice divider in fabric so guests won’t have to sit at or see the tables? Or do you have enough guests that the room is full of tables?

I’d go for the ceremony at the reception venue.  That’s what I’ll have to do too if it rains.

Ask the venue coordinator if they have any creative ideas to transform the space for the different events.

Do you have a dance floor?  Maybe only do seating for elderly and disabled guests and have the rest of the guests standing.  (Depends o the length of your ceremony)

Defniitely talk to your reception venue. They may likely have a rainy day plan already in mind. I am doing the same thing – having a backyard wedding, weather pending, but if not, the reception venue plans to more or less roll out the red carpet for us and set up a little something on the dance floor for the ceremony. That way the DJ, and all other things can still be set up in their respective places!  I think this truly would be your best option, and I’m sure the reception hall will help to make this as smooth a transition as possible if it does come down to it!!

Good luck

Honeslty, working with a wedding decorator, we’ve done a venue where they had the ceremony,at exactly 2pm  they sent everyone to another room (which was nice for cocktail hour, people took pics, they chatted and ate) and then the decorators and the caterors were done within 30 minutes and people were back inside. We switched it 360 and it looked fab both ways, garanteed, It actually looks very classy because it will be smooth and they are trained to switch at an exact time and in a fast manner.
