- Wedding: September 2010
Hi & Hello! I have been following wedding bee boards and blogging even before I got an engaged over a year ago and since I am now less than 6 months away from the big day I figured I might as well get in on the action as well. My first order of business during my spring break is not only not to touch a lick of school work or thesis work and to actually get my DIY invitations started, my furniture props sanded and painted, my guest book made, and hopefully find more glass bottles and jars for the decor.
Since I only have about 5 or 6 total wedding working days and my FH is working over 6 hours away from me I have decided to enlist the help of my new fellow bees! So the first thing I will subject you all to is helping me with the invitation wording that I am working on and will eventually handwrite out myself with a calligraphy pen which is something I am fairly versed with. Now the wording is not exactly traditional but in all senses it is what wedding invitations used to be: handwritten notes to loved ones, which I think fits in with our vintage garden theme very well. I really need help nailing down the exact wording and working out an typos, so any help would be greatly appreciated!
Here is what I have so far:
It is with great happiness that we invite you to share in our joy as we exchange vows in celebration of our love and commitment to one another at the chosen venue on the chosen date.
Please join us for this joyous occasion in our lives at chosen time in the Scroll Garden. Drinks, dinner, and desserts will follow in the adjoining garden as we celebrate under the stars. It would be our blessing to share in the love and hope of the day with your company as we gather together in love and commitment as we start our lives as one.
