So today while I was at work I had a regular customer come in to look at some watches we had on display. Whilst doing so, he asked me with this semi flirtatious smile, what I was doing this weekend. To which I replied that I was going with my boyfriend to visit his grandparents. Now this guy is very married. I’ve met his wife and he was still wearing his wedding band while hitting on me. He cut off the charm after that, but then his friend came up and was like “Ya know I’m Spanish” with a wink. And I just rang him up and said “that’s nice, have a great night.” Does anyone else get hit on at work?

@Tarheelgurl: I work with 20 something male students day in and day out so it happens quite often – although not as often now that I have this ring on my finger! For the most awkward of situations, I usually avoid, avoid, avoid.
ETA: I actually worn a fake engagement ring when I was waitress to avoid that drama – worked like a charm.

Yes, but it’s by patients in a psych hospital.

@aliavenue: I have a blue topaz ring that I’ve thought about switching to my left hand ring finger just to ward off would be interested parties. But right now it doesn’t happen so much that I feel the need to do that. May start to though if some people don’t get the hint.

I’ve been hit on at both my jobs (hospital and nursing home). It’s awkward; every time it happens I think to myself “Who does that?!”

I wait tables so of course. The work environment is casual and relaxed and part of my job is to ensure customers leave happy; therefore sometimes men will get the wrong idea and think I’m flirting. or they’re just brave.
I work with my husband so ever since we moved, it hasn’t happened, but the last place I lived in, I was getting hit on by the dishwasher and 2 male servers and my Darling Husband all at the same time – obviously one of them won lol. One, however, thought it was appropriate to pinch my ass.
I’d be lying if I said I didn’t like the attention. But I do not appreciate ass pinching or anything derrogatory so while I hate to say that sometimes I miss being admired, I’m overall thankful that everyone knows my husband is always less than 10 feet away from me.

I used to be a cocktail waitress/bartender so yes, every day. Honestly, in that business being creeped on is so common that you’re just happy if they don’t touch you. Sad but true.

I’m an engineer and I spend time out in the field with operators and rig crews. So yah… Those guys have no class haha.

I used to work in a University hospital setting and would get hit on by the male undergrads all the time. My favorite is when they would come in drunk after getting the crap beat out of them or even better, when they would come in for STD checks and still try to ask for my number. I will usually say something like, “Is there anything else you need today?” to all my patients. And I’ll occasionally get the, “How about your number?” as a reply. I mean really?!?

I sure do haha, I work at a hardware store in the summer between school years and the guys who work in the lumber yard come in to hit on the cashiers during the day. Since I’m the newest cashier they’ve moved on from the other girls and just focus on me. This one guy can be really inappropriate sometimes and kind of creepy. He’s 27 and I’m 21 just for reference. One day last summer he came up to me and was like “How would you like it if I took some duct tape off the shelf and taped you up and took you home with me? Do you think your boyfriend would mind if I took advantage of you?” like ewww barf. He kept winking and stuff, so gross. He still does stuff like that even though I’m engaged now.

Every.Single.Day. I sell men’s cologne so i get hit on by both customers and coworkers since my area is in the men’s department. I’ve had a customer ask me if my ring was fake and I only hadIt to avoidguys flirting with me. Uh I said “its real and obviously that doesn’t work”. The new guy has started calling me babe baby and babygirl. That’s about to get nipped in the bud real quick lol.

Not anymore but I work in a research lab so it’s not surprising. But when I worked at Cold Stone for a summer in college (and was therefore interacting with customers), I did get hit on on occasion.

I work for a hotel and house a lot of college athletics. It happens pretty frequently. LOL. I just smile and keep going!

I work in an office with 15 girls my age. The job has high turnover and is low paying so we’re all pretty young. So no, I do not get hit on since there are no men
