SO I’ve been waiting for my pro pix for what feels like longer than my entire engagement so I got in contact with my photogs and they said its gonna be another WEEK (for a total of EIGHT since my wedding) and I just wanted to see if that was normal…?
We had a nautical wedding on a yacht sailing Newport Beach harbor and we had our videographers flown in from NYC but SURPRISINGLY, one of the best honeymoon gifts we got was our 5 minute highlight vid just 1 week after our wedding day:
Kimberly & Mark – September 21, 2012
Its been great to be able to share with our family that couldn’t make it and I have a few guest photos but they aren’t really all that great in quality or quantity and I WANT TO POST A RECAP ALREADY! Yes, first world problems, I know…
So humor me recap bees – how long after your wedding did you have to wait to get your photos? Days? Weeks? or MONTHS LIKE ME?! lol

@julies1949: Awe! Thank you Julie! I like the kiss tooooo cuz my Maid/Matron of Honor looks pricelessly happy & there’s a little duffy boat cruising around in the background which I thought was sweet! hehe
There are a few things I forgot cuz I was rushing that show up in this vid so it bums me out a tiny bit aka the blindfold I made – my photog rolled up a napkin instead and tied it on terribly… 🙁 oh well.
Also, there was an accident with the bakery and they had to scrape together a diff cake last minute and they put some random red carnations on it (not my fav) so that was dissappointing but what could we do (we got our money back though so that was pretty nice).
For whatever reason the videographers didn’t take the time to find my husband and his ring for the video so its just my bands (boooo) and the final pan-out inolves an old photo of us that Darling Husband doesn’t actually like… (lol) but its a lovely highlight vid really and I’m grateful to have it while I don’t have my photos yet!
Eeep some bees said 9-10 weeks… I guess I should consider myself lucky if I get them next week!

My brother is a wedding photographer and it can take him anywhere between 6-8 weeks to get the photos done. He’s got multiple weddings a weekend, with around 1500-1800 shots each. It adds up. I don’t know about your photographer either but my brother also has a studio and does things like family portraits plus there are different networking events, bride shows, etc. There is a lot going on behind the scenes so I know it is tough but be patient. I’m sure they will turn out beautifully and then you can share them with your family and friends!

Wow your highlight video is incredible !!!! We lucked out and got ours back in a week but usually it should take more than a month especially if its a lot of photos and most photographers have a lot of weddings to go through. I love your dress !!!!!!

I am also impatient, we got married at the start of September and still don’t have them.
The photographer gave us a sneak peak of 20 pictures 4 weeks after the wedding!
About half were really ‘meh’ of our backs during the ceremony (our guest pictures were better) and some amazing ones of us from when we went alone with the photographer to a spot by a river. They are really nice but a bit overworked in my opinion. I just hope he hasn’t used this filter in too many of them (it was a gloriously sunny day)
I hope you get your pictures soon, I’m just hoping we get them before Christmas 🙁

@PinkAndPearls2013: oh right, other weddings makes sense… I undesrtand! I’m just jealous of all these recaps, I guess hehe
@nativedesires: awwwe thank you so much! I can’t wait for the extended cut (15 mins) and we negotiated to get all the raw footage as well if we wanna play around with it and make a longer one or what not… I’m really glad we got videography now that I don’t have any wedding photos lol
@Otterly: ooooh 20 photos is a hefty sneak peek! That’s awesome… would be more awesome if you liked them but still! haha Eeep, the filter is pretty magical but yeah, maybe a bit dramatic… if they all have that filter, maybe you can ask if it can be a little lighter in a few.

After requesting one or two pix for the thank you card, we finally got a response and these two pix came…
One from the hotel lobby:
one on the yacht:
…the first thing I thought when I saw both of them was “GOSH, we look TIRED!” and I hope in the others we don’t look so… drained!
When I put them through instagram I actually think I like them better! lol
EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEKKKKKKKKKKKKK! I need to see the others!
I’m already thinking about another shoot in our wedding attire… I know its early days but DANG we look tired and I’m not impressed with what the harbor did to my hair…

Our wedding was July 17. We recieved 25 sneak peeks via Facebook around September? I am still waiting on mine. The contract says 90 days. I think she was going to send them this week, but since I am going to KY next week for TG, I told her I would pick them up from her. So it will be four months.

Hey! I booked the same Videographer for my wedding! How was it like working with him? I love this work and I’m super excited! You look beautiful by the way in you dress. 🙂

We had 50 sneak peaks on Facebook (small format, with watermark) in less than one week.
We should be getting the full set (100 images) in high res, no watermarks very soon. It’ll be in the 11-12 week range when it’s all said and done.

@MississippiQueen: oh so you’re getting prints? We didn’t order and albums or prints so we’re getting all digital but WOW you’ve waited a while huh?! Poor thing…
@alishafashionista: oh my gosh I loved them! They are super sweet guys and are really down to earth. We flew them out for our wedding cuz we loved them so much and they flew back a few days after the wedding and STILL got us our highlight vid a week later! Very dedicated and easy to communicate with. You won’t regret it one bit!
One thing I would warn you of is preparing your photogs to work in harmony with the videographers… I warned my photogs before hand but they must not have communicated with each other because my guests were telling me about how they were pretty much pushing/shoving over the ceremony space areas to get the angles they wanted…. I didn’t notice because I was tunnel vision during the whole ceremony so I didn’t notice them but it was a big enough deal that my BMs and some guests were mentioning it to me so I’m actually a little nervous about the photos and the extended cut vid.
I thought these professionals would be able to coordinate well but I guess not… we’ll have to see how all the photos come out to see how disruptive they were to each other.
@sienna76: WOW, that’s quite the sneak peek followed by QUITE the wait for the rest! but at least you got a quick turn around for 50! I feel like that’s a lot! lol

@KimmySumShuga: She was so very excited to shoot at our location as it was her first wedding ever there, so maybe that’s how she cranked out the first 50 so quickly. I know she is very busy, and we’re not even up on her blog yet.
Too bad they are not high enough res to even make a holiday card! They were mostly for Facebook sharing!

@KimmySumShuga: So… I can’t stop thinking about the necklace you wore at your reception. If there’s any chance you want to sell it (which you probably don’t, but it can’t hurt to try!), I would LOVE to have it 🙂 Dillard’s doesn’t sell it anymore!!
