@StefLovesJamie:  Is it essential to have the benefits right now or could you wait until June?  FI and I have been engaged since Christmas Eve 2010 and I started my benefits in August 2011.  We didn’t jump the gun to get married because I had benefits.  We figured we’d just wait it out a bit since the wedding wasn’t TOO far off.  Ours isn’t a LDR situation so I don’t have any real advice for that.  I suggest you two think it through before jumping the gun.  It doesn’t sound like you’re entirely on board.

That is tough.  Do you really need his insurance that you have to get married before he leaves?  LDR is pretty tough.  But the two fo you can handle it, especially since you will be busy with school.  Is there any way you can do a big reception sometime afterward to celebrate with friends and family?

@StefLovesJamie:  Honestly, I would postpone the wedding until you two figure out your situations – his career/your school, etc.  It seems as if everything is up in the air right now.  I’m not sure I would want to spend my first year of marriage in two different states at all.  It’s supposed to be an exciting time.  But if it’s something you two are willing to work out and somehow see each other, then go for it!  Whatever makes you two happy.  =)

@StefLovesJamie:  Ah, then you two need to have a major sit down to communicate reasons, pros, and cons.  Best of luck!
