Hawaii it is! It will be a destination of sorts for me.. I live in Missouri with my Fiance but I was born and raised in Honolulu and lived there my entire life up until 3 years ago. Fiance lived in Hawaii for 5 years so it holds a special place for him too.
I have included pricing below because well, this is anonymous and I think people like to know how much things cost!
We have decided on the Ocean Crystal Chapel in the Hilton Hawaiian Village…. LOVE it and can’t wait! It is 2500.00 for non-locals (10% off for those local to Hawaii) 90 minutes on the day of and the general extras like an hour rehearsal, officiant, etc.. so it’s pricey but it’s beautiful and I can’t wait!
And then for our reception we decided to do an intimate dinner with less than 40 guests so we’re doing it in the Kahala o ke Kai room at the Kahala Resort.. fancy.
(the room is the room at the top of the page with all the red decorations…it opens into a nice grassy area, where they put out tables for cocktails/after dinner and then a few feet away is the sandy beach!)
For Sat Night – There is a 1500.00 room charge fee and a 3000.00 food and beverage min, max 40 guests (4 round tables) or 30 guests (one long table) I am getting a nice plated lobster and filet dinner for 92.00 a person and drinks are honestly very reasonably priced for Hawaii..and especially The Kahala. The Kahala hotel is definitely a top resort.. (pricey!)…the lobby is gorgeous!
I do not suggest getting married at the Kahala because you HAVE to use their vendors..and the biggest one being photography….. because if you try to use your own, they charge you 1000 just for being someone else in..! You also have to use them for flowers..and well, everything else. However, if you just have your reception there, you do not have to use their vendors aka ..much cheaper!!
You can’t play loud music but they do have s sound system and you can play nice background music. I plan to have a first dance on the grassy area in the front while the music plays…
Anyway just thought I’d share my plans!
I have been such a mess trying to figure out this and that…and I finally decided for sure and I am so happy and at PEACE! At one point I swore I was going to just go down to the courthouse and just get it done without the hooplah. I’m glad I’m doing it this way.
