Anyone have any good remedies for beating the common cold before it gets to be full-blown? I’m just starting to feel super tired, a little bit of drainage down the back of my throat. Ugh. I’m sure if it turns into a full-blown cold I’ll be fine by next Friday/Saturday for the wedding, but would rather be on the top of my game for these final 10 days. Anyone have any tips/tricks that can help??

Oil of oregano (liquid) and camu camu powder are my go-to’s! Lots of water, and lots of rest.
Hope you feel better!

Drink LOTS of water, get rest, stay away from dairy (causes mucus production).

kat912: this happened to me too! The stress and excitemen- try and get as much rest and relaxation in as you can. Lots of water, tea, and vitamin c. Also, if you can did a homeopathic remedy called Umcka that can help! helps to shorten the duration of the cold and lessen symptoms.
I will say that on the day, adrenaline will take over and you won’t notice te cold much. Take some cold meds early in the day to combat symptoms, but don’t take anything too late so you can enjoy your wedding without worrying about medicine foggyNess. it will be an amazing day no matter what, I promise!

kat912: If you can’t find camu camu powder, those Emergen-C packets are good too. They have 1000 mg of vitamin C!

ZINC!!!!!! It’s a miracle worker. It’s in a lot of cough drops, or you can buy lozenges that you let dissolve on your tongue. Besides that, just your basic lots of water and sleep! Good luck. I got sick the week of my wedding and between the zinc and the adrenaline, I was able to power through just fine.

Elderberry extract is amazing! Also, zinc and emergen-c. I was able to fight off a cold until the day after the wedding, I had an arsenal of vitamins and drugs. Also, I agree that ont he day of, the adrenaline will keep you going.

I got sick on the Monday before my Saturday wedding, I swear by Zicam now (Zinc) because I was completely 100% better by the Friday before my wedding. Lots of sleep helps too!

kat912: I hope this isn’t too late, but Umcka Cold Care, available at Whole Foods (and some Walgreens I think?) stops EVERY common cold I’ve had dead in its tracks. I haven’t had a cold since college. I think it’s made with black magic and sorcery.
