I’m getting married on the same Saturday that my parents did and my wedding will be 30 years for them! It’s not the exact same date (their actual anniversary is a few days later) but I wanted to do a little something for them to recognize their 30 years together.
For one of our slow songs I am going to have our DJ play their first dance song dedicated to them. Obviously, I don’t want to do anything too extravagent but is just a dedicated dance enough? Any other thoughts on how to celebrate for them without it being too much? Anyone done anything like this at their own wedding?

At our wedding almost three weeks ago we had our DJ play first songs from several of our guests. My (now) brother- and sister-in-law got married one year ago the day after our wedding, and one of her regrets was that she didn’t have a picture of them with their chair signs. I made a sign for them that said “One Year Later” and gave it to her if she wanted. They got pictures with it, there are a bunch of sweet pictures of them dancing to their song at some point during the reception, and we used the same cake cutting song (although, really, I just love the song, and decided it’d be a nice way to recognize them). Our DJ announced the song for the cake cutting was the same. I hope what we did gives you some ideas!

My mom’s birthday is the day before our wedding. She has offered to help with a lot of the prepping, so we won’t even be able to go out to dinner for her birthday (we do this every year). I am going to do a small toast with some heart felt words to my mom during the reception. 🙂
