I was talking to a girlfriend whose sister is getting married in a few days. I jokingly asked what was she more excited about, being Mrs So and So or the wedding? Sister overheard and shouted “the wedding”.
They asked me what I was most excited about and I said I couldn’t wait to be married and start being a proper family together. They both throught I wasa bit strange when I explained that although we were having a wedding for 100 people, I’d be quiet happy with a wedding for 30. I can’t wait til we are married and can officially start our family together.

I’m excited for both.. I get really excited with the planning and envisioning what the whole day is going to be like, and I got really excited over my dress and I still am, and I’ll be even more excited when we start booking venues and when the day gets closer, but above all that, I am excited to be married to the man that I love, I’m excited to start our life together and start a family and grow old together.. So I am really excited for the big day, but it isn’t at all going to be a let down after it’s all over, because I am even more excited for what comes next..

i’m definitely more excited about what the commitment means than the hoopla. i’d be perfectly happy going to cityhall with our families and a festive dinner afterwards – no dress, no veil, etc.

we are having a wedding for 30 people… and that’s still too much for me! i’m just having the wedding because my fi wants it, we’re comprimising and keeping it small. i’m definetly ready for the marraige though.

I’m excited for the wedding, but I’m just ready to be married.

I LOVE this poll because I think so many brides lose track of WHY they’re getting married to begin with. I love my boyfriend so much, and I want to marry him. I’d marry him tomorrow without all the centerpieces and cake and he knows it. Two of my very best friends are also planning weddings that are small and they could really do without, but we’re having fun planning them all the same!

I actually voted for having a wedding. I have lived with my FI for two years. We have two pets together and it feels like our own family. I honestly feel like I am married to him already. Maybe that will change after the actual ceremony. I just like things between is the way they are between us and don’t see them changing, which is great!

I’m more excited to be married because that means we can live together and do “other things” together too. I’m really excited about the ceremony too, but I realize that night will only last for a few hours. 🙂
I’m so excited!

I’m excited for the wedding. FI and I have been dating for almost 8 years now and living together for 5 years now, so needless to say, we are pretty much married. We’ve outlasted several friends who have since then been married and divorced. Even without the wedding, we know we are committed to each other and are happy. I had even settled on us not getting married. I decided that we should finally get married when something happened and made me realize that life is too short and that we should just do something small with our friends and family present and God’s blessing. So, I’m excited to celebrate with our friends and family. I can’t wait!!
Also, the BEING married part is exciting. Mostly taking his last name. Lord knows I’ve written my name with his last name a BAJILLION times!
I just love him to death.

I always thought I’d be content to elope if it came down to it…now it is another story and I am so obsessed with all things weddings and cannot wait for that either. I love the planning!!

I voted the wedding as well. Don’t get me wrong, I was reeeeally excited and looking foward to being married, but we already lived together too and even without the paper, we were basically married. I wasn’t expecting to feel any different after the wedding (though it actually did end up feeling kind of different).

I didn’t answer the poll because I felt weird choosing the wedding over the marriage, but like Jezzybell FI and I have been living together for a while now and I already feel like we have started our life together as man and wife – now I wanna celebrate!!!
