I would say, embrace it with a smile. Maybe in the middle of picture shoots, the sun will come out just at the right time.

I have seen so many blogging bee’s post about this and the sun ended up shining exactly when they needed it to. Fingers crossed the same happens for you – and if it doesn’t it will still be a wonderful day and will make for great great pictures!!

Congratulations on your wedding!!

I rained all day leading up to our ceremony and right when the pastor said to kiss the bride— embrace it! You can see the rain in this pic:

First, the whole “Don’t Bring around the Clouds to Rain on My Parade” is the best song ever!!!  You should see if you can get your DJ to play it!  People might have a good laugh.

Second, after the summer we’ve been having, it might actually put your guests in a good mood to get some rain.  So people might actually be more energized than they would be if it was 100 degrees out!

Third, you have the right attitude, so I don’t think anything can spoil your day!  Maybe send your bridesmaids out to find colorful umbrellas today, and just keep a sense of humor about it.  If you can do that, you’ll survive marriage pretty well too!  I bet it will actually be fun, and you’ll always look back and laugh!!!  It’s these chaotic things that make weddings really memorable.

I completely understand – I went through the exact same funk, complete with tears, the day before my wedding, which I’d hoped would be an outdoor backyard ceremony and indoor/outdoor reception. You can probably find my day-before post about it somewhere on the bee.

My wedding day was amazingly joyful. It drizzled all day, and I resigned myself to it and decided that it would be a happy occasion nonetheless. Well, an hour before the ceremony, the clouds parted, the sun came out, and the catering planner (who was also coordinating setup) rushed to move things outside. We had cloudy/sun during the ceremony and cocktail hour, so the wedding was outside and people had drinks on the deck. Then about half an hour into the reception, there was a big thunderclap and it started POURING! Everyone ran back into the house laughing, and the rest of the party was just amazing.

So, no matter what the weather does, know that you will have a beautiful, happy, joyful day. <3
