I have a strapless dropped waist A-line french taffeta dress with some crinoline underneath. I hate the feeling when my thighs touch and rub together and I’m concerned with the extra heat under my dress that my thighs sweat will rub sooo much that they become raw. I’ve thought about wearing some lightweight loose shorts underneath so that they prevent my thighs from touching, and rubbing raw but I can’t seem to find any that I’m looking for. Overall, I’m concerned with generally being sweaty under the dress too. Did you have that problem? How did you deal with it? Any ideas or advice to help a fellow bee?? I’m getting married in 4 days!

I’ve seen lots of suggestions for Spanx for this purpose!

I was surprised at how unsweaty I was on my wedding day. I found these for you on Etsy – I don’t know how quick they deliver though… http://www.etsy.com/listing/97067050/short-cotton-bloomers-victorian-knickers

I wore a mermaid.. and actually sprayed my thighs with some spray deoderant and was not sweaty at all. Not really sure about the science of this, but it seemed to work for me. Also something like gold bond would prob work.

I have heard good things about a product called “body glide” but haven’t tried it for myself. Also, when I was visiting Las Vegas I wore a lot of skirts & dresses because shorts ride up on my legs, so I just used regular deodorant/anti-perspirant between my thighs! I didn’t get any chafing the whole time I was there!

i wore two dresses and both were silk. i wasn’t sweaty at all and i got married in vegas. maybe the natural fibers are more breathable than polyester or maybe my dresses were pretty light weight to begin with? i only wore lace undies and at the last minute decided again the le mystere bridal bustier. but i also carry my weight in my bust rather than my lower body so my thighs don’t rub together.

I sweat like a beast any time the temp is 75 degrees or higher. Add a ballgown to the mix and I was terrified of drowning or accidentally creating a slip-n-slide for my guests with the amount of sweat that’d be coming from under my dress. So, I took a regular deoderant stick and coated my inner thighs, bikini line and right under my tush with a layer. I made sure that I could be without clothes for a bit for it to soak in. I didn’t have any sweating problems on the wedding day.
And yea, sorry if that was TMI. Just wanting to possibly help! 🙂

- Wedding: July 2012 - The Gables Inn, Santa Rosa, CA
Spanx will be your best firned– my wedding is next month and it’s an outdoor afternoon thing… likely to be in the 90’s… My dress has a built in corset thingy, so I don’t actually need to wear anything under it, but this is what I’m planning to wear:

Yeah, the deodorant trick never fails.

I didn’t wear anything or do anything about it and I was sweating more theN I ever have in my life down there. I also did get raw. I wish I would have research more and been prepared.

The deodarant thing does always work, I love it. I wore thigh highs with a garter belt so that also kept them from rubbing together.

I didn’t think of this until after the wedding ( when my thighs were starting to hurt) but bike shorts or spanx would be great for this.
