I had my first child in September 2013 via IVF. We had to do IVF because my husband (43 yrs) has low (practically nonexistent) sperm count and since I had never been pregnant before, no one knew if there was anything wrong with me (36 yrs). The only thing they found wrong with me was maybe a blocked tube, but they weren’t sure if that was a result of the horrifyingly painful dye test they were administering. At any rate, I got pregnant on the first IVF cycle so I’m fertile! Lol. I do realize that that blocked tube may be an issue in conceiving naturally.
So now that I have a 3.5 month old I’m even more fertile and I would like another child before I’m 100….jk….I mean sooner rather than later. I’m in baby mode now, so why not? My question is what are the chances with my husband still having low sperm count? Is anyone else in the same situation as me and gotten pregnant naturally? i am charting and temping so I will know when I ovulate, but there are so many different theories on when/how often to have sex around ovulation, but with his low count, I would imagine we would have to be careful not to do it too much so as to give him time to replenish. Anyone in a similar circumstance?
