Hi fellow bees,
This is my first post. Hope you gals can help 🙂
My wedding is on 11 May 2014 and I need production on my Pronovias Dia dress made with Jasmines Bridal Shop ASAP.
The dress is $400 on the website but I had several questions so I contacted Kimmie directly after getting her email address off weddingbee.
I emailed my order form, measurements and photos to her, and asked for a quote about 4 days ago. She said she needs to confirm with production team first about the price because I had submitted a lot of detailed photos of a real bride which might affect the price. I was really anxious so I emailed her twice politely asking for an update, and her latest email went like this:
“Please be patient, as all questions and concerns has to be confirmed by the Production team if I do not know the answers; -10% for reducing train; yes belt is included in the price in website photos; same price with real photos submitted; no underskirt required”
I am now very confused. Is she asking me to continue waiting for a quote, or did she just give me the quote in her last email when she said it will be the same price as what is on Jasmines webpage minues 10% for train???
I was expecting an actual number for a quote e.g It will cost $___.
Do I have to calculate it myself now? What’s your experience with quotes from Kimmie of Jasmine Bridal??

@AussieNewbie: We’re getting married on the same date!
You’ll have to wait for the actual itemized quote from her because all quotes have to be approved by JBS. The itemized quote will show whatever upgrades/add-ons and discounts you may have.

@nephthys: I’m not sure whether I will get an itemised quote from her actually.
I replied to her email by saying “Thanks, I’ll wait for your quote then”.
Then Kimmie replied:

@AussieNewbie: Is she expecting you to confirm that these are the changes you want to make for your dress? Perhaps you should email her and ask for the itemized quote because she should email you the final price and not for you to calculate the price yourself.
I think if you do not require revisions to be made (assuming you did designer to get mid pro pictures), I think you should be able to receive it in time! I ordered mine early because I’m using my dresses for a photoshoot in December.

@nephthys: Ok, I’ve asked her her for an ‘itemised quote’. We’ll see what she responds with.
I’m going for Designer Fabric and Premium Crasftmanship, so no photos.
nephthys – I’m not sure whether you’re from the States or not, but do you know what the fee is for Bank of America to receive a transfer from a domestic bank? I’ve read somewhere it’s $12? Jasmines only accepts payment to their BoA account or Western Union (the latter of which I don’t trust).
I’m planning on doing the transfer from a third party exchange company that uses Bank of New York to transfer the money to BoA. So it will be a domestic transfer. Only problem is, BoA charges a fee for receipt of the funds even though it’s a domestic transfer. This is a foreign concept for me. If I know what the exact fee is, I could just add that cost to the final balance to cover it without having to pay for the transfer fee separately afterwards, which would be a nightmare.
I tried calling BoA, but the time difference (me being in Australia) has proven very difficult.
Many thanks for your help so far. It’s so nice to know there are many people who have been through this and can help 🙂

@AussieNewbie: Nope I’m not from the States and I didn’t use BoA transfer so I’m afraid I can’t help you with that. I paid both deposit and remaining balance using WU and it has been ok so far for me. Just that they take longer to pick up payments from WU because they don’t pick up payments every day and it can take a few days!

Ok, I finally got a quote by ordering through the website and then confirming it with Kimmie.
I got too anxious and didn’t fully understand Kimmie’s reply, so I just ordered online.
I paid through Western Union and my dress is now in production as of yesterday. Yay!
Can’t wait to get my dress in 4 months time.
