I’m getting ready in a hotel room near the venue. It’s a good choice for me because my apartment is small and I can’t imagine my whole bridal party and photographer being here. Plus, a hotel room is going to be cleaner when it’s that close to the wedding. 🙂

I have been married twoce and got ready both times at the venue. If there is a spacious, comfortable place to get ready at the venue, I think that is best because you won’t have to sit in your dress, you can get ready a bit later, which means everything is fresher, and you have less risk of people seeing you before the ceremony since you won’t be moving from a car to a waiting space.

The girls & I are getting ready at my parents neighbors house.. odd I know. It came about, because I didn’t want to get ready at my house.. I just felt like I should be a my parents that morning getting ready.. once that was decided we realized their agressive dog probably wouldn’t like all the strangers & commotion.. I don’t want to risk him getting nasty with anyone-ugh he’s a jerk. So my mom asked their neighbor, a widow who’s known me since I was 4.. she said YES before my mom even finished asking. Her house is bigger, its right next door to my parents.. and it’s close to our venue. I think it’ll work out good! And I know she’s so excited to have all us girls there & be involved with the wedding excitement.

We’re not allowed to get ready at the venue for some reason (hair/makeup at least), which seems sort of weird but ok b/c i didn’t want to get ready there anyway.  Planning on doing it at whatever hotel we decide on.  Our apartment is at least an hour from our venue depending on traffic.

My venue is a hotel, and we’ll both be getting ready there.  We have a big suite with a bedroom and a living room and two bathrooms.  I’m getting married near where my parents live, not where I do, and I had no intention of getting ready at their house.  I want to be right at venue and ready to go.  It’s so much more convenient to me – all the girls will get ready in the suite, MUA and hairstylist will come directly to us, then when I’m done, we’ll take pictures right there on the hotel grounds.

I got married at my church.  We got ready in a large room in the church, it was perfect for us.  The guys got ready at my parents’ house – My dad’s the pastor, so it was right next to the venue

We’re doing hair and makeup at home, but then getting into the dress at the venue. My mom thinks I’ll go stir-crazy if I’m stuck at the venue allllll day, but I don’t want to try and travel anywhere in my big fluffy ball gown!

I’m getting ready at our house (FI & I’s) with my bridesmaids, my mom & dad will come over once they’re done getting ready. Fiance is going to get ready with the guys either at the hotel (where our reception is) or at his parents. We have the best space/lighting for the girls getting ready at our place. All hair & makeup is happening at the house so I don’t have to come into the city, I can be relaxed at home, make sure I get everything I need (in case I forget something) & spend time with our 2 kitties before we’re gone for the day!

Me and my girls will be getting ready at a hotel a block away. My Fiance is getting ready at his house (we don’t live together yet). I live too far out from the church so it’s more convenient.

I think I will be getting ready in my parents’ room at a nearby hotel and Fiance will get ready at the apartment.  We have a big bridal party but I’m only getting ready with my sister and Future Sister-In-Law.

I think I will get ready at the venue. Supposedly, there’s an office turned bridal suite at this venue that other brides used. We live about 30 minutes away from the venue and in the July Southern California heat, I don’t think my hair and makeup can last that long in the car!

@ticatica:  I got ready at the venue, it just seemed easier, and my mom was afraid my dress would get wrinkled/dirty between the house and venue, plus getting in and out of a car.  I took my dress off at the venue and went back to our hotel in my sweats :).
